本年5月のゴールデンウィーク期間は、5月3日（日）～6日（水）の4日間を休館日といたします。
※ 4月29日（水）は祝日のため、通常稽古がありません。
※ 4月30日（木）は月末ながら早朝（7-8AM）・夜間（7-8PM）とも一般部の通常稽古を行います。
※ 5月1日（金）は4月30日（木）の振り替えとして終日休館にいたします。
※ 5月2日（土）は早朝（7-8AM）・午後（2-3PM）・夜間（7-8PM）とも一般部の稽古を行います。

◆ National Holiday Dojo Closure Information

Please be advised that during the Golden Week holidays in May, the dojo will be closed for four days from May 3 (Sun) to May 6 (Wed).
・April 29 (Wed): No regular practice due to the national holiday.
・April 30 (Thu): Regular general classes will be held both in the early morning (7:00–8:00 AM) and evening (7:00–8:00 PM), despite being the end of the month.
・May 1 (Fri): Closed all day as a substitute for April 30.
・May 2 (Sat): General classes will be held as usual in the early morning (7:00–8:00 AM), afternoon (2:00–3:00 PM), and evening (7:00–8:00 PM).

◆ 富木謙治師範を偲んで： 我々の合気道の名称について

昭道館館長である成山哲郎師範がお書きになった貴重な記事を、皆様にご紹介いたします。
昭道館の初代館長である富木謙治師範は、1979年12月25日にご逝去されました。富木師範の御命日にあたる毎年12月25日には昭道館本部道場にて追悼の特別稽古が行われています。昨年末の稽古において、成山哲郎師範より富木師範の生涯にわたる様々なエピソードを綴った記事が発表されました。この記事には、富木師範がその生涯を捧げて築き上げた合気道競技の名称に込められた想いなど、非常に重要な知見が記されています。この度、より多くの方にお読みいただけるよう、改めて昭道館合気道連盟の公式ホームページにて公開いたしました。

◆ Commemorating the Legacy of Tomiki Kenji shihan

We are honored to share a new article written by Nariyama Tetsuro shihan, which details a significant piece of Shodokan history.
Tomiki Kenji shihan, the first Kancho (president) of Shodokan, passed away on 25th December 1979. To honor his memory, a special commemorative practice is held at Shodokan Hombu Dojo every year on the anniversary of his passing. During the most recent session held at the end of last year, Nariyama Tetsuro shihan shared an article detailing various episodes from Tomiki shihan’s life. Most importantly, the text offers deep insight into Tomiki shihan’s personal thoughts regarding the name he gave to the system of Aikido Kyogi (Competitive Aikido) that he dedicated his life to developing.
We have now completed the English translation of this article, and are pleased to make it available to you all. We invite you to read "The Aikido of Tomiki Kenji shihan: On the Matter of Its Name" written by Nariyama shihan, on the official (NPO) Shodokan Aikido Federation website.

◆ 演武審査部総会・審判部総会・乱取り審判講習会・昭道杯

4月19日（日）は昭道館本部道場において、多くの行事が行われた充実の一日となりました。
まず正午過ぎからは「2026年度 関西学生合気道競技連盟演武審査部総会」が開催されました。演武審査の精度を高めるために採点方法について話し合い、審査基準の共通理解を深める大変有意義な会議となりました。
続いて、演武競技のみならず乱取り競技の発展に向けた「2026年度 昭道館合気道連盟 関西審判部総会」が行われました。その後、昭道館合気道連盟の審判部長である遠藤関男先生による審判講習会が実施され、審判技術の向上に向けてルールの細部まで踏み込んだ議論が展開されました。
そして、一日の締めくくりは本年度第1回目となる「昭道杯」でした。道場が活気付くなか、数多くの白熱した試合が繰り広げられました。選手にとっては日頃の稽古の成果をぶつける真剣勝負の場として、また審判にとっては実戦を通じて技術を磨く絶好の機会となり、全員が切磋琢磨する素晴らしい光景が見られました。
審査員をされる先生方、乱取り審判をされる方、そして昭道杯に挑戦した乱取り選手の方、一日を通して合気道への情熱を注いでいただき、大変お疲れ様でした。

◆ Embu Judges Meeting・Referee Meeting・Refereeing Course・Shodohai

Yesterday, Sunday 19th April, was a day packed full of events at Shodokan Hombu Dojo.
We began with the 2026 Kansai Student Aikido Federation Embu Judging Committee General Meeting. This was an important meeting dedicated to refining scoring methods and unifying judging standards for embu at University competitions. It was a productive meeting aimed at ensuring the highest level of precision in embu judging.
This then continued with the 2026 Shodokan Aikido Federation Kansai Referees Committee General Meeting, focused on the development of randori referees. Following the meeting, Endo Sekio sensei, the Head of the SAF Refereeing Division, led a seminar on randori referee rules.
This was then followed by the first Shodohai League matches of the year. With the dojo full of energy, the matches were hard fought. It was the perfect opportunity for competitors to test the techniques they’ve been honing in daily practice, and for referees to sharpen their skills through live competition.
To our judges, referees, and the competitors, thank you for your efforts throughout the day!

◆ 成山哲郎師範による欧州講習会のご案内

この度、成山哲郎師範による講習会が、5月1日（金）から3日（日）までの3日間、スペインにて開催される運びとなりました。
欧州のメンバーにとって、成山師範から直接ご指導を仰ぐことができる貴重な機会となります。
また今回は、欧州における昭道館合気道の普及に多大なる尽力をされた故フィル・ニューカム先生の追悼行事として、記念合気道競技大会も併せて執り行われます。
この特別な3日間に、一人でも多くの皆様が奮ってご参加くださることを、心より願っております。

◆ Announcement: Seminars in Spain with Nariyama Tetsuro shihan

We are pleased to announce that a three-day special event led by Nariyama Tetsuro shihan will be held in Malaga, Spain from Friday 1st May to Sunday 3rd May.
For our members in Europe, this represents an invaluable opportunity to receive direct instruction from Nariyama shihan firsthand.
In addition to a series of seminars, a commemorative Aikido Kyogi tournament will be held in honor of the late Phil Newcombe sensei, who dedicated himself to the promotion of Shodokan Aikido throughout Europe.
We sincerely hope that as many of you as possible will join this significant occasion.

◆SAF東京道場の開設について

この度、当連盟は東日本地区の新しい拠点として東京都国分寺市にて道場を開くことになり、本日4月11日、SAF東京道場の開設記念式典 および 開館記念祝賀会が執り行われました。
この日の詳しい模様については、後日写真や動画でご紹介する予定ですが、まずは昭道館合気道連盟の会長である成山哲郎師範、ならびに当連盟理事長であり東京道場の道場長となられた大森竜一師範にご挨拶頂いた際の写真をお届けいたします。

◆ SAF Tokyo Dojo Opening Ceremony

Shodokan Aikido Federation has opened a new dojo in Kokubunji City, Tokyo, as a new base for activities in the Eastern Japan region.
Today, Saturday 11th April, marked the official opening ceremony of the SAF Tokyo Dojo, along with a celebratory reception party.
We will be sharing many photos and videos in due course so you can get a sense of the occasion, but to give you a taste to begin with, we would like to present photos from the addresses given by Nariyama shihan, President of Shodokan Aikido Federation, and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Omori dojocho.
Many congratulations on the opening of the SAF Tokyo Dojo.

As the Japanese academic year changes, university clubs are busy preparing for the upcoming season.
Throughout March at the end of the academic year, Nariyama Tetsuro shihan and Sakai Shinnosuke shihan instructed at several university spring training camps and intensive seminars.

先日3月29日は昭道館本部道場にて昇級・昇段審査会が行われました。
午前中は少年部の審査会、午後からは成山哲郎師範の下で一般部の昇級・昇段審査会が実施され、一日をかけて合計で100名前後の受験者が参加されました。
受験者の皆様、本当にお疲れ様でした。

This Sunday, 29th March, a Kyu and Dan grading promotion examination was held at the Shodokan Headquarters Dojo.
A children's examination took place in the morning, followed by the adult exams in the afternoon, which were overseen by Nariyama Tetsuro shihan, 9th dan.
Altogether, just under a 100 participants took part in the day's grading tests.
Congratulations to all who passed their next grade!
