On August 16, we had a summer English Day Camp. It was an amusing time!

[The 283rd Regular Meeting on April 26th, 2026]

Our regular meeting on 4th Sunday is full of variey of contents.

Today we listened to an informative speech, which was related to a global issue, in the current topics session. We found that intervention meant investment there. Next we held our featuring debate, where the debaters talked about the pros and cons of euthanasia. How thought-provoking! After the debate, we enjoyed impropmtu speeches, prepared speeches and the feedback. We've got a lot of takeaways.

[The 282nd Regular Meeting on April 8th, 2026]

Tonight's propositions of our impromptu debate matches were "AI's decisions were better than the politicians' " and "Universities should prioritize diversity over academic performance in admissions." We all thought about whose decisions would make our life happier, and about the current systems of the exams. We were impressed by the ardent debaters. [The 281st Regular Meeting on March 22nd, 2026]

We enjoyed a debate under the propositon of "Japanese schools should start in fall rahter than in April." Both the affirmative and the negative side speeches made the audience's mind active enough to wonder which is better. And we listened to three well-prepared speeches and three feedbacks for them, which gave us great lessons of how to live as well as how to make a good speech. We had a guest, to whom chatGPT recommended to try to attend our meeting to hone your English skills. It has a good eye for appreciation(^_-)-☆ 　 If you're interested in our club, please contact us!

[The 280th Regular Meeting on March 11th, 2026]

Tonight's propositions of our impromptu debate matches were 'Katakana should be banned' and "Japan should protect Japan-related oil tankers in Persian Gulf with US if asked by President Trump." Abruptly the propositions were announced, followed by a brainstorming session. And we enjoyed the debates. How exciting!

[The 278th Regular Meeting on February 11th, 2026]

As usual we had two impromptu debate matches on Wednesday night, 'Parliamentary Debate'. One was related to blue tickets for bike riders' violation and the other was priority seats on the vehicles. We should protect ourselves as well as others. Can paying fine be a powerful deterrent against accidents? Can priority seats be a good reminder to be kind to people? We enjoyed debate tonight.

【The 277th Regular Meeting on January 25th, 2026】

We had an impressive debate related to peace treaty and global change. The two debaters from each side persuasively argued the matter. It was hard to choose the better debater.

Next we enjoyed "Table topics speech." Making an impromptu speech just after a topic is given was challenging, but definetly it'll help us develop our communication skill, relieve stage fright, and enjoy public speeches. The topic master did a great job in deciding the topics.

Following that, we listened to two speeches and some feedbacks, which will support our representatives for the contest in the coming weeks. Hang in there!

【The 276th Regular Meeting on January 14th, 2026】

The 2nd Wednesday night is thrilling! As usual we had an impromptu debate, 'Parliamentary Debate.' We had two matches; one proposition was 'violent scenes in TV programs and movies should be banned,' and the other was 'it should be allowed that married couples retain their own maiden or last names.' Which team won in each match? Please join us to confirm our exciting debate.

[The 275th Regular Meeting on December 28th, 2025]

Great news on the last meeting day! We welcomed a new member. She'll vitalize our club more and more!

As usual, we had a debating match. How persuasively and logically the debaters argued their views! Every time each debater spoke, I nodded-"That makes sense."

Following that, we heard three speeches, three feedbacks, and five impromptu speeches, and our representatives for the coming speech contest for next year were chosen. What a fruitful meeting!

[The 274th Regular Meeting on December 10th, 2025]

At the 2nd Wednesday night, we hold an only online meeting featuring an impromptu debate, 'Parliamentary Debate.' We had two matches; one proposition was 'We should ease reception of foreign caregivers considerably,' and the other was 'Dogs are betters than cats as pets.' We had a heated debate at a cold night. We ended our meeting at 22:00 sharp.

[The 273rd Regular Meeting on November 30th, 2025]

We started with a current topic speech, whose theme was our first female Prime Minister.

Then two members debated enthusiastically the proposition that Japan should increase its defense budget and military capabilities in response to the evolving geographical landscape. Their passion for debate made the room with low temperature warm !(^^)!

Following it, there were workshop about new system of Pathway, 3 prepared speeches, and 3 evaluations. We voted and a better debater, the best speaker, and the best evaluator were rewarded.

　Each role taker also did a great job, and time management was superb. We ended our meeting at 16:30 sharp.

We held the Debate Festival on October 26, 2025.Thank you to all the teams that took part in the event! The team that triumphed in the heated competition was Osaka Sakai TMC — congratulations! Some teams have already started preparing for next year. I’m already looking forward to the next Debate Festival！
