The out break of the Coronavirus COVIC-19 has impacted people in varying ways on an international scale. It is understandable that during times like this, people may be feeling afraid, worried, anxious and overwhelmed by the constantly changing alerts and media coverage regarding the spread of the virus.
It is important to stay informed by the government. As the health and well-being the strategies, is to continue looking after ourselves and each other during these difficult times.
More importantly is to manage our time to media coverage as this am increase feelings of fear and anxiety. But to be mindful of sources of information are to ensure ourselves that are of good quality and accurate. Most of all, we need to follow a “calm yet cautious” approach. We need to do our best to remain calm and be mindful- not to contribute to the widespread panic that can hinder efforts to positively. It is also important to manage the outbreak and make sure we are following the rules issued by the government, medical advice and observe good hygiene habits.
Moreover, to show compassion and kindness and uncertainty are strengthening our sense of community by connecting and supporting each other.
Actually, it is to maintain our day-to-day activities and do a routine as much as possible. Having a healthy routine can have a positive impact on your thoughts and feelings.
However,staying physically active (e.g walking, stretching , running, cycling etc) getting enough sleep, doing things you enjoy, eating nutritious foods and maintaining your connection with are your benefits for your community.
Above all, you can also keep learning and maintaining your study , read a book, listen to a podcast. Try out a new hobby (i.e cook a new menu recipe, play an instrument , learn how to sew or gardening.
If you can meditate (there are different methods, including Vippasana meditation) be aware that it might not work for everyone. In times like these, many people find meditation and mindfulness helpful.
