いけばなインターナショナル第13回世界大会の僕のいけばなデモンストレーションも沢山の皆さんのご協力のお陰で、無事に終えることが出来ました。本当に感謝しております。
終わったあとの拍手喝采の音と声、沢山の方からお褒めの言葉を頂きました。とっても嬉しかったです。
でも、本番前に思ったのは、父、先代家元の教えでした。「上手いと思われたいとか凄いと思わせたいとか褒められたいとか、そういう余計な物は捨て去って、ただただ純粋にやりたい事、目の前の花をいけることに向き合って集中する事だ。」そんな事を思い出していました。
「純粋に純粋に、、」そう自分に言い聞かせてステージに向かったのが、きっと良い方法に転んでくれたのかなと思いました。
父親のピュアさをこれからも見習っていきたいと思いました。
作品は、
四季をテーマに春・夏・秋・冬と順番に生けました。これは、僕の祖父、二代家元 粕谷明光がかつて行ったデモンストレーションのテーマでしたものを僕もこの大舞台でやりたいと思って今回決めました。
でもびっくりしたのですが、同じテーマの先生方が何人かいらっしゃったみたいで、それぞれのアプローチでなるほど勉強になるなと思いました。
また今日から気を引き締めて精進して頑張りたいなと思いました。
I was able to successfully complete my ikebana demonstration at the 13th Ikebana International World Convention thanks to the cooperation of many people. I am truly grateful.
The sound of applause and cheers after the demonstration, along with the many compliments I received, made me very happy. However, before the demonstration, what came to my mind was the teaching of my father, the previous Iemoto of Ichiyo school. He taught me, "Get rid of the unnecessary thoughts of wanting to be seen as skilled or wanting to impress others, or wanting to be praised. Just focus purely on what you want to do—concentrate on arranging the flowers in front of you." I remembered these words.
By telling myself repeatedly to "be pure, be pure," as I headed to the stage, I believe it led to a good outcome. I realized I want to continue to emulate my father's purity.
For the demonstration, I arranged flowers based on the theme of the four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. This theme was chosen because it was the theme used by my grandfather, the second Iemoto of our school, Meikof Kasuya, in his own demonstration, and I wanted to present it on this grand stage.
To my surprise, it seems there were several other Iemotos of other schools who chose the same theme, each with their own approach, which I found educational and insightful.
With renewed determination, I hope to continue honing my skills and working hard from today onward.
