“14-Days of My Quarantine”
Most people including me decided to come Japan cause Japan is our dream land. The first 14 days in Japan was tough for me as I see the land of Japan and nature but I could not feel it. I felt that two weeks was very long like two years because I cannot wait to feel I make it to Japan Finally. Now quarantine is relieved and everyone can feel Japan as soon as they landed from flight.

“Sunset in the Dorm Hallway”
The pandemic made it difficult for many students to fully experience university life. The light in the dormitory hallway signifies the community that students can be a part of as boarders open and in person classes begin.

Academic life during pandemic is very difficult to succeed. However, giving up is not an option. We must move along for our future.

“Finally home!”
Because of the pandemic, I couldn't go home for more than 2 years. But finally this year 2022, I am able to go back home and celebrate Lao new year with my family! In the photo, I and my sister wish our parents and aunt a good year.

“Alone in the cold”
It is Saturday, arrived here this morning,
I look outside, and again, it’s snowing.
Come to the lab, after a while,
Because every other lecture is online.
Summer’s about to start in my home country,
Most of my friends are at the beach, throwing a party.
“We wish you were here,” I’ve been told,
Why am I here, alone in the cold?

“I took this photo earlier this year when every class was online. At that time, there were no international flights to/from the New Chitose Airport at all, and it was very difficult to travel home. Stress, loneliness, combined with seasonal depression, things were very hard for me then and it kept getting worse. It is the first time in 4 years (since I first came to Japan in 2017) that I realized what it’s like to be homesick.”
