Nakano TMC celebrated its' 200th meeting with a strong audience of previous club members and guests. Included in today's meeting were our esteemed District Director and former Nakano member NN, as well as our Area Director KH san! After a strong session educating our new guests on the helper roles of Timer, Ah Counter, Grammarian, and Word Master, we got to hear a rousing speech on her journey in Toastmasters by our fearless club president, KI. We followed with a travel-themed Table topics session led by our rapidly improving member, Toastmaster IS, and then finally a strong evaluation session from our former club president, MF! We would like to congratulate our guest, ToastmasterAC, on his best Table topics speech, as well as our best Helper, VPPR ZN, and our best evaluation, former member and 2021 District 76 International Speech ChampionPM, and then finally our best speech, given by club president KI.

199th Meeting on January 25th

The meeting was a great success as a hybrid event! We had five new guests who were interested in the Toastmasters Club. Each guest brought their own unique and cheerful personality, coming from various backgrounds. Nakano members created a supportive and friendly atmosphere that encouraged the guests to participate actively.

In this hybrid meeting, the main role-takers, including the TMOE, prepared speaker, and evaluator, joined online. To stay connected, even in-person participants used Zoom. While managing a hybrid format was a new experience, the venue made it easier for speakers to engage both in-person and online audiences seamlessly.

The Table Topics session was particularly exciting, with 10 topics and lots of enthusiastic participation, thanks to the many guests. The main topic was "finding a little happiness in everyday life." One member shared a touching story about their family, while a guest spoke about how music inspires and relaxes them. Despite the varying levels of English proficiency, everyone showed their passion for speaking and sharing their thoughts.
Finally, during the awards session, we celebrated four Table Topics winners! Congratulations to all of them!

198th Meeting on January 11th

Our first meeting of the year was truly amazing! We had a packed agenda featuring one prepared speech, several Table Topics speeches, and a strong evaluation session.

TM KI did a fantastic job as Toastmaster, smoothly guiding the meeting and keeping everything on time. TM MF delivered an inspiring speech on New Year’s resolutions, emphasizing three key points: calm down, narrow down, and slow down. It was a message so impactful that we’d love to hear it again!

During the Table Topics session, centered around the themes of the New Year and winter, guest TM SN shone with two wonderful stories that captivated the audience.

Finally, the evaluation session saw TM ZN providing constructive and encouraging feedback to TM MF. It was a closely contested segment, showcasing the value of growth through positive reinforcement.

We’re excited for our next hybrid meeting on January 25th!
Remember, Toastmasters is a safe place to learn, grow, and even fail.

See you there!

Joint Meeting Report : BBT bond TMC and Nakano TMC

We had a special joint meeting at BBT University last Friday evening. The BBT Bond TMC was the host club for this event, and they had prepared everything well, ensuring that all participants enjoyed the meeting.

There were delicious drinks, including sparkling wine, beer, and some tasty pizzas to enjoy before the meeting started. All members and guests had some slices of pizza!

After the President's greeting, TMOE (Toastmaster of the Evening) began the meeting and introduced the role takers for the day. There were three prepared speakers and three evaluators.

TM B – Speech Title: Looking Back on This Year
This was a panel discussion reflecting on the past year with two speakers.

TM O – Speech Title: Driving is Freedom
The speaker shared his thoughtful perspective on senior drivers.

TM K – Speech Title: The First Visit to Tenjin Shrine
This speech was a traditional Japanese story, Rakugo, presented in English.

Each speech was well-prepared, thoughtful, heartwarming, and a little bit funny! All speakers, evaluators, and audience members spent a memorable time together.

Time flew by, and the meeting ended with a 5-minute speech to evaluate the event.

Enjoy the holiday season and Happy New Year!
