【Academic Schedule】
1) 2 Year Course (Class starts in April)
2) 1 Year & 9 months Course (Class starts in July)
3) 1 Year & 6 months Course (Class starts in October)
Holiday: Saturday, Sunday, Public holiday, Summer & Winter Vacation etc..

【Course Hour】
◆8:45AM to 12:00AM (90min/class: 2 classes/day)
◆1:15PM to 4:30PM (90min/class: 2classes/day)

🎨 Bingata Dyeing Workshop – Day 2

On the second day of our Bingata dyeing workshop, students experienced the final steps of the traditional dyeing process:

♨️ 蒸し (Steaming) – The fabric was steamed at a high temperature to set the colors deep into the fabric.

💧 水元 (Mizumoto) – Washed away the protective rice paste with water, revealing the beautiful Bingata patterns hidden underneath.

🍵 Tea Ceremony Experience – While waiting during the Mizumoto process, they also enjoyed a traditional Japanese tea ceremony!

It was a special day filled with Okinawan craftsmanship and Japanese cultural experiences. Students were able to see their own unique Bingata designs come to life while deepening their appreciation for traditional culture.

Thank you to Kinjo sensei and Nakamura sensei for guiding us through this wonderful experience! 🌺✨

If you have family roots in Okinawa, check out our scholarship opportunity to study Japanese in your ancestor's homeland!

✔️ Full Scholarship requires a recommendation from your local Okinawan association (Kenjinkai).

✔️Half Scholarship does not require a Kenjinkai recommendation, so even if you are not connected with a Kenjinkai, feel free to apply!

🎨 Bingata Dyeing Workshop – Day 1

On the first day of our Bingata dyeing workshop, students experienced three important steps of the traditional dyeing process:

🎨 色差し Choosing the color palette
🖌️ 刷り込み Second pigment rubbing
🌈 隈取り Kumadori (gradient shading)

Guided by Kinjo sensei and Nakamura sensei, students learned traditional Bingata techniques while creating their own unique color combinations. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience Okinawan culture!
