【国籍を超えて、一緒に育つ。留学生インターン4年目】
今年も、学び舎momのグローバルインターンシップが始まりました。
今年は、アメリカから4名が6月最終週から参加。7月後半には、台湾から5名を2週間の短期集中型で迎えます。
昨年までに受け入れた留学生は延べ18名。今年を含めると、4年間で延べ27名になります。
この取り組みは、SEKAIA株式会社が運営する「Internship in Japan」を通じて実施しています。
SEKAIA副社長の万出さんとは、一般社団法人日本ワーキングママ協会（現在の日本ウィメンリーダー協会）を立ち上げた頃からのご縁。コロナ後の再会をきっかけに、留学生を受け入れる取り組みへと発展しました。
今年、学生たちが挑戦するのは、
・English Cafeの企画・広報・運営
・毎週の活動記録とSNS発信
・海外助成金のリサーチ
・地域観光のグローバルマーケティング
など、実際の事業や地域課題に関わるプロジェクトです。
私たちが応援したいのは、「外国人だから」ではなく、国籍や年齢、性別を超えて「挑戦したい」と願う人です。
また、受け入れ初年度から、G-POP®フォーマットを活用したグループコーチングを導入。今年は「ありえる楽考」のメンバーからもファシリテーターを迎え、複数体制で学生たちの挑戦と成長に伴走します。
教える側と教えられる側に分かれるのではなく、お互いの違いから学び、一緒に育つ。
今年も、インターン生たちのリアルな挑戦を発信していきます。
【Growing Together Across Borders: Year 4 of Our Global Internship Program】
Manabiya Mom’s global internship program has begun again!
This year, we welcomed four interns from the United States in the final week of June. Five interns from Taiwan will also join us in late July for an intensive two-week program.
By the end of last year, we had hosted 18 international interns. With this year’s nine participants, the total will reach 27 interns over four years.
This initiative is offered through “Internship in Japan,” operated by SEKAIA Inc.
I first met Mr. Mande, Vice President of SEKAIA, when we were establishing the Japan Working Mothers Association, now the Japan Women Leaders Association. After reconnecting soon after the COVID-19 pandemic, our relationship developed into this global internship partnership.
This year, the interns are working on real-world projects, including:
・Planning, promoting and operating an English Cafe
・Creating weekly reports and social media content
・Researching international grant opportunities
・Developing global marketing ideas for regional tourism
We support them not simply because they are international students, but because they are people who want to challenge themselves—regardless of nationality, age or gender.
Since the first year of the program, we have also incorporated group coaching using the G-POP® framework. This year, facilitators from the Ariéru Gakkō community are joining our team, allowing us to support each student’s learning and personal growth through a multi-facilitator approach.
This is not a one-way relationship between those who teach and those who learn.
We learn from our differences—and grow together.
Throughout this series, we will share the interns’ real experiences, challenges and discoveries.
