The IAFOR Undergraduate Research Symposium (IURS) provides students with a motivating and thought-provoking opportunity to present their research.

The two-day symposium allows participants to join other engaged undergraduate students from across the globe. This international and interdisciplinary course aims to enhance their oral communication skills through a series of challenging and exciting seminars and activities.

Dr François Taddei of the Learning Planet Institute, France, will present ‘Manifesto for the Planetary Mission of the University’ at The 5th Paris Conference on Education (PCE2026) and The 5th Paris Conference on Arts & Humanities (PCAH2026) in Paris, France.

François Taddei is an internationally renowned researcher whose work explores the future of learning, collective intelligence, and planetary citizenship in an age of AI and global transformation. His keynote presentation will examine how universities can evolve to foster transdisciplinary innovation, ethical leadership, and care for the global commons through collaborations across education, science, and international institutions.

The 6th Southeast Asian Conference on Education (SEACE2026) and the inaugural Southeast Asian Conference on Arts & Humanities (SEACAH2026) were held from February 05-09, 2026, at the Singapore EXPO, Singapore. 356 delegates, representing 238 institutions from 50 countries across the world, discussed the intersection of technology and human value, and their implications within the education and cultural aspects.

The conferences addressed the core discourse of the risks and opportunities of integrating Artificial Intelligence in Education, and provided examples of good practices in transforming AI from a potential shortcut into collaborative learning partners. It is suggested that institutions should move beyond outdated policies and static prohibitions, as well as advocate for educators to evolve into active facilitators who cultivate AI literacy and evaluate the entire learning journey rather than just final products. Beyond the classroom, the conferences look into the impact of digital technology on cultural preservation, examining how virtual platforms and digital diplomacy both democratise access to heritage and introduce ethical questions about shared memory. The report also offers insights into the strategic management of international educational networks, emphasising that authentic interdisciplinary and intercultural engagement are crucial for building resilient careers in this modern, technological-driven society.

We are delighted to announce the recipients of IAFOR grants and scholarships for The 5th Paris Conference on Education (PCE2026) to be held at the Sorbonne University International Conference Center (CICSU), Paris, France and online between June 15-19, 2026.

In total, we received 99 scholarship applications.

Launched in 2016, IAFOR’s grants and scholarships programme provides financial support to PhD students and early career academics, with the aim of helping them pursue research excellence and achieve their academic goals through interdisciplinary study and interaction.

SEACE/SEACAH2026 plenary day finished with the Conference Dinner, which was held at the Singapore Cricket Club, Singapore’s oldest sports and social club. Delegates who joined us for dinner were given a uniquely Singaporean social and culinary experience that has been cultivated over 150 years, traversing Singapore’s myriad traditions through the Club’s historic venue, its culture, and selection of multicultural fare.
