Our Story
Moomin International Kindergarten offers Finnish style early childhood education and care to families in Tokyo in a peaceful, nurturing and magical environment that is in harmony with nature. Our Scandinavian interiors have been designed specially for children by Danish Architect Jens Martin Suzuki-Højrup of studio Hokuou.
Our mission is to nurture happy, confident and successful children while stimulating and encouraging them to become lifelong learners and positive contributors to society. We focus on the whole child and aim to nurture our children to grow into intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically strong and resilient adults.
Our learning philosophy embeds problem solving, collaboration and learning through play. We believe that integrating these highly acknowledged learning methods will help our children to strengthen their ability to engage in life as creative problem solvers and critical thinkers.
Children will experience kindergarten in a very similar way as if they were living in Scandinavia, but learning in English, spending time outdoors everyday and taking advantage of the rich international culture available in Tokyo.
