The best classrooms have no walls. Eucalyptus and Keyaki class adolescents are on their Odyssey, a 10 day community building, nature-rich, tech-free journey in the Izu Islands.

The students planned and prepared for the epic excursion that includes camping, snorkeling, hiking, kayaking, biking, fishing, cooking and soaking in onsens.

We look forward to hearing their stories when they return!

Please welcome Carolina Lopez to the Sequoia class! Before working in Montessori education, Carolina worked as a freelance fashion designer. Her creative background continues to inspire her work in the classroom through handcrafted Montessori materials, art, sewing, and thoughtful environment design.

Beyond the classroom, Carolina enjoys gardening, exploring the city by bike, and spending time in nature. She brings her curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for the natural world into her work with children. We look forward to joining in her adventures!

A week of preparations include the safety of our children in mind. The entire faculty and staff were updated about child protection from trusted MST partner, clinical psychologist Denisse Wasumi. And teachers practiced CPR and first aid, ensuring that nearly every teacher and staff member is trained in lifesaving, whether you're the librarian, the IT guy or the music teacher.
