1. 倦怠感(けんたいかん)— Kentaikan
A deep emotional fatigue. More than being tired — the slow dulling of motivation, meaning, and energy.
2. すれ違い(すれちがい)— Surechigai
Two people drifting apart without conflict. Still close physically, but emotionally missing each other more each day.
3. 慢性的(まんせいてき)— Manseiteki
“Chronic.” A sadness, loneliness, or emptiness that lasts so long it quietly becomes normal.
4. 風化する(ふうかする)— Fūka suru
To weather away over time. Used for emotions, memories, or passions that slowly lose their sharpness.
5. 色褪せる(いろあせる)— Iroaseru
To fade in color. Dreams, relationships, and feelings that once felt vivid becoming pale with time.
6. じわじわ — Jiwajiwa
A slow creeping sensation. Realization, pain, loneliness, or even regret gradually spreading through you.
7. 麻痺する(まひする)— Mahi suru
Emotional numbness. Feeling so much for so long that eventually you stop feeling anything at all.
8. 根付く(ねつく)— Netsuku
To take root deep inside. Often used for lingering loneliness, doubt, resentment, or emotional scars.
9. 手遅れ(ておくれ)— Teokure
Too late. The painful realization that something could have been saved — but no longer can.
10. 取り返しのつかない(とりかえしのつかない)— Torikaeshi no tsukanai
Irreversible. Damage, silence, or words that can never fully be undone.
