📖✨ Celebrating 300 Years of Gulliver’s Travels

📅 June 1 – July 30 (11:00–18:00)*
📍 Keio Museum Commons, Mita Campus
☑️ Free and open to the public

Starting this week, the Keio Museum Commons (KeMCo) is holding an exhibition showcasing items and illustrations related to Jonathan Swift’s 1726 novel Gulliver’s Travels.

- - - - - - - - - - -

For three hundred years, Gulliver’s Travels has stirred the hearts of readers around the world. Gulliver is humorous and fiercely cynical. His viewpoint shifts freely; his curiosity drives him to see everything from every angle, to find more than one meaning in whatever he meets. From this curiosity comes a great breadth of imagination and invention — and that is where the essence of Gulliver’s Travels exists.

Gulliver’s fantastical adventures even bring him to Japan, still closed off from the world. KeMCo invites you to explore those adventures, the messages Swift embedded within them, and human society as it was, only just setting out on the road to modernity.

KeMCo will also be hosting an open lecture and gallery talk during the exhibition period.
