Willowbrook International School

International Preschool located in Minato-ku, Tokyo

Willowbrook International School is an independent preschool, located in the heart of Tokyo, for children ages 15 months through 5 years. The school, founded in 1998, offers an integrated educational curriculum with an emphasis on human values, interpersonal skills, creativity and multi-cultural awareness. When Willowbrook opened in 1998, we designed our curriculum based on the research of Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson, Howard Gardner, and similar researchers who value play and creativity in early childhood. Beginning in 2002, we built on our existing program and began to implement the Project Approach in our older classes. At Willowbrook, the main objective is to sow the seeds of growth to enable a child to become a responsible member of society with respect for one's self, one's community and one's natural habitat.
