Clarence International School

An unusual sight was found outside Clarence International School this week. Boxes of special sand were left outside the school, and it left our Tiny Star and Little Star children completely puzzled. Luckily, the children are palaeontologists in training and quickly grabbed their magnifying glasses and brushes. They carefully brushed through the sand and discovered many different fossils! The children worked together to piece the fossil parts back together and found out they belonged to DINOSAURS! Back in class, they studied and classified the dinosaur species and kept their eyes peeled for more clues.

Be careful… maybe there are some dinosaurs lingering close by…

Yesterday, the whole school gathered together for our annual Spring Picnic.

It was so much fun spending the day together, as well as playing with friends and teachers from other classes. Fresh air, warm smiles, and memories made under the open sky; the spring picnic was a little reminder of how special our school family truly is.

A new chapter begins as Clarence International School officially opened the doors to its new Nishi-Azabu campus this month.

Happy New Year from Team CIS!

Today, our team reunited after the winter break and began the new term with a traditional Japanese tea ceremony - a very ‘zen’ way to see in the new year. Following this, we visited Senso-ji Temple to make our wishes for the new year, before returning to school for some focused staff training and team development.

We are all very excited to see our wonderful children and families return to school tomorrow. We look forward to seeing the growth of our young learners through 2026 and beyond!

We had a truly ‘spooktacular’ day yesterday at our Halloween Parade. The children enjoyed showing their costumes to their friends and teachers before beginning the annual trick or treating event! The Parade finished in our local parks where parents met us and celebrated the day with us.

Thank you very much to the Friends of Clarence who assisted with decorating and preparing the park areas for the children. Yesterday really did highlight how special our Clarence community is! We already looking forward to next year. Happy Halloween!

Following a busy day of training and organising classrooms, team CIS concluded their first day of the new academic year with a creative, fun team building activity.

Working in classes, each group was presented with a blank canvas and had to work collaboratively to create a picture which represented the values of their class. Together, the CIS team created some wonderful masterpieces which will be proudly displayed around school.

Leading by example, team CIS demonstrated their outstanding creativity! Training and preparation is to continue across the rest of the week, and we cannot wait to welcome our students back on Monday.
