★American Culture 2/2
After the picnic, there is usually a parade to see in every town or city. Many people will wave the American flag, and some will wear funny outfits!
Once the parade is over, people return to the park in the afternoon. Once the sun sets, there will be fireworks shows all over the country.
So if you see someone from America this Tuesday, be sure to tell them “Happy Fourth of July!”

This Tuesday will be the 4th of July in the United States. On this holiday, Americans celebrate their Independence Day in 1776. It is one of the biggest holidays in the United States, and there are lots of things to do!
Most people will take a day off work. Many will meet their friends and family at a park, and have a BBQ picnic with lots of different American foods, like hamburgers or hot dogs.

Hello Planet Links! My name is Curtis and I’m from the United States. I’m a graduate student at Waseda University, studying international relations. I’ve been enjoying my time in Japan so much since I arrived, especially meeting friends at the izakaya and seeing the cherry blossoms in spring.
In my free time, I like watch to movies, discuss politics, and learn more about Japanese culture and history. I also love to teach! I taught English in South Korea for three years, and now I want to teach in Japan. I’m excited to work here at Planet Links and meet new people who want to improve their English abilities.
