We're taught the brain is the boss and the heart just follows orders. The science tells a more interesting story. 💗
Your heart has its own network of around 40,000 neurons - a "little brain" that neuro-cardiologists have studied for decades.
It also sends more signals up to the brain than the brain sends down to it. Those signals play a role in how your brain processes information. In one study, people perceived a fearful face as more intense when it appeared during a heartbeat versus between beats.
Your heart is constantly communicating with your brain in ways most of us never think about.
It also raises an interesting question: what experiences might still feel emotionally unresolved?
In Dr. Bradley Nelson's work, the Heart-Wall® is a concept describing the idea that unresolved emotional energy can accumulate around the heart. It's one way of thinking about the emotional weight many people describe carrying through life.
🤍 Swipe through.
This post describes general neurocardiology research; those studies are not evaluations of The Emotion Code® or the Heart-Wall® concept. The Emotion Code® is intended to support overall wellness and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition, or replace professional medical care. Individual experiences may vary.
"I didn't think he could help with that."
That's what he told himself before booking the session.
Then the pain disappeared overnight - and never returned.

Your nervous system knows the feeling; that place in your body where everything finally settles. Maybe it's warm shoulders in the sun. Maybe it's a full, slow breath. Maybe it's the quiet right before sleep. 🤍
We spend so much time noticing where our bodies hold tension. But your body also holds safety, you just have to go looking for it.
So today, go find it. Close your eyes, take one breath, and notice: where does calm live in your body right now... and what's the one word for it?
Drop your word below. 👇 One word, no explaining.

"Just be grateful" is the kind of advice that makes you want to scream when you're having a hard day.
So let's skip the platitude and look at what actually happens in the body. 🧠 People who kept a gratitude journal reported fewer physical symptoms and more energy.
In one study, gratitude writing left measurable changes in the brain that were still visible three months later.
In another, heart patients who practiced gratitude showed better heart-rhythm health and lower inflammation.
Gratitude isn't magic; it's a shift out of your stress state and into your calm one. And the research says the trick is to be specific: not "my family," but "my sister called just to check on me."
🤍 Your turn - name one specific thing below. 👇

Not every part of learning happens in a workbook.
Sometimes it's the confidence you build during hands-on practice.
Sometimes it's the encouragement from the person sitting next to you.
Sometimes it's finally trusting yourself to apply what you've learned.
These are a few words from past Body Code® Level 2 attendees about their individual experiences at a live certification event.
If you're considering joining us in Salt Lake City this August, we hope these stories give you a glimpse of what the weekend can be like.

Yale researchers found something that changes how we think about fear.
Grandmothers who lived through violence showed chemical changes at 21 specific sites in their DNA - a fear response written into their biology by what they survived.
But their children, born after, who never experienced that violence themselves? Same 21 sites. Same exact markers.
Not similar. Identical.
This means some of the fear, anxiety, or heaviness you carry may not even be yours to begin with - it may be inherited.
