ETJ-Kyoto

ETJ-Kyoto ETJ-Kyoto We are a group of English teachers and school owners in and around the Kyoto area.

Come join us for one of our local meetings, held bi-monthly, to learn new ideas for teaching children English in Japan. We have great presentations as well as time for everyone to share ideas, ask questions and network with others in the English-teaching world. We are a local chapter of the not for profit national group English Teachers in Japan (ETJ).

Our ETJ meeting on Sunday was absolutely fantastic. Very informative presentation by Atticus followed up with a very fun workshop where we all made games that we all got to play.

Atticus not only showed us the value of effective games in the classroom but also the fun in designing games that will motivate and stimulate our students.

On behalf of everyone at the meeting, thank you Atticus.

P.S.
The after party was also a blast! Stay tuned for pix.

Knowing how to craft a lesson to ignite curiosity, inspire motivation, instill self-confidence, and make an impact is an important teaching skill. Attendees will learn essential planning rules, see an actual lesson and then delve deeper into the method and components used in creating a themed lesson. This is a lesson planning intensive that will coverhelpful routines, songs & chants, how to use picture books, create mystery, and more to increase the motivation, discipline, learning and fun in your classes! (Ideas presented suit preschool and elementary students, but the methods can be applied to all ages, and used for big or small classes.)

Kim is from the U.S. and has a background in theatre with experience in acting, radio and television. She began teaching English to children and training teachers in Japan in 2000 and currently works at a private kindergarten in Gifu City.
