Japan is a small but technologically and economically advanced country. People all over the world love to come here for its hospitality and cleanliness. People from India & its peripheral countries mostly prefer to stay in Kansai region, western Japan comprising Wakayama, Kobe, Osaka, Nara, Siga & Kyoto. But due to absence of an Indian based English medium school & less exposure to English in Japanese schools, they prefer to switch over to Tokyo. Sometimes they find a job and settle there but most of the times they don’t find one and have to return back to their natives in disappointment. Looking into these problems India-Japan Friendship Center, a non-profit making organization, registered in Japan was struggling since 2002 to set-up a school in this region to help out those children whose parents are working in various companies in Kansai region. Finally, the dream long cherished came into reality with the sincere support of Kyoto administration. The school came into being as the international branch of its parent school in Puri, Odisha, India in the same name Chandra Sekhar Academy at Mukaijima in Kyoto, Japan on 6th April 2018. It became the first ever Indian based English medium school in Kansai region, western Japan like its parent school having distinction of being the only school in the state of Odisha where Japanese language & culture has been taught as an elective subject from Nursery to Senior Secondary (+2) level having an IT Training Centre (TICSA) with various IT related courses along with NIELIT course approved by Govt. of India and especially by Japanese companies in India & Japan . On this auspicious eve it was inaugurated by the honorable Mayor of Kyoto Mr. Daisaku Kadokawa In the presence of his excellence Consulate General of India to Japan and scores of intellectuals & dignitaries creating a space for learning in Kyoto that ties those from overseas with Japan to transform it into a scholastic hub. Now the much awaited school has been made and it would be our sincere request to all the expats staying in the region should come forward to avail this golden opportunity and also let others know about Its scope so that they bring back families & admit their children in the school. The companies around Kansai region have expressed their solidarity for the sort out of edu-problems & better continuity of the workers in western Japan. The location of the school having railway station , bus terminals, shopping malls , restaurants, bank, post-office, playgrounds , parks etc. along with apartments for residential accommodations in close proximity has made it an ideal place for the families to stay here at an affordable budget and the parents too find it easier to access their workplaces in Osaka, Kobe, Nara & Kyoto having candid logistics & to & fro transportation facilities round the clock. Kyoto, as you know the former capital of Japan has something for everyone. Its mountains, rivers, seasonal fruition and world heritage sites are magnificent and awesome. Its cleanliness & hospitality is second to none. Kyoto is the perfect fusion of aesthetic & modern.
