The Inclusion Institute is almost here! Are you planning to attend? Hope to see you there!
What stories do the children in your classroom believe about their own sense of competence? Are children with and without disabilities free to take risks and explore the limits of their abilities?
"The Japanese Practice of Mimamoru and Lessons on Inclusion" with Jani Kozlowski and Ryutaro Shintani will explore the practice of mimamoru, or "watchful protection" and how this practice can foster inclusion and belonging.
The International Early Childhood Inclusion Institute is a premier educational experience focused on evidence-informed practices that ensure that all young children, with and without disabilities, learn, play, and grow together in high-quality, inclusive early childhood settings.

Just returned from a whirlwind trip through the great state of Illinois! First was a talk with the StarNet Chicago Mom's Retreat in St. Charles with the fabulous Tareema Jean-Baptiste, then off to East Moline to deliver 3 workshops for educators, child care leaders, and community inclusion team members. Melissa McCullough, principal extraordinaire, even decorated the meeting space with an Every Child Can Fly theme, complete with origami birds and puffy white clouds! I felt so welcomed and loved. 💕 This was a great collaboration between the East Moline School District and StarNet Regions 1&3. Thanks so much to everyone who made it all possible. May this school year be the best ever!
