How are you everyone?
I hope you and your family are are doing well even though it’s a difficult time for everyone.
As you know, we have the saddest spring ever here in Kyoto with beautiful cherry blossom as usual.
Since early March, we have received so many mails from our clients about the cancellation of their trips due to COVID-19.
I think it must have been very difficult decision for you to cancel the trip but life is the most important thing for all of us.
We are so sorry about your trip has been canceled and we couldn’t see each other.
As a cooking teacher, I also took the health issue seriously and decided temporarily close our cooking class since mid March until further notice.
Meanwhile, I am preparing to have instagram live cooking class.
Also I am preparing for a cooking book for those who want to enjoy my cooking class recipe at home !
For those who have been to my cooking class, this book will give you little more ideas and examples! For those who haven’t been to my cooking class, this book will also be an introduction to Japanese home dishes before you actually come to my cooking studio :)
I hope you, your family members, friends, and colleagues to stay safe, and hope to see each other and cooking together at my cooking studio in Kyoto soon !

Yesterday was the last business day of the year (normally) but we still have many guests from all over the world!
We talked about the food trend in the US and Japan. I think the bubble tea is the third booming, also basque style cheese cake (very rich and caramelized on top) and very fluffy luxury sandwich loaf are so popular in Japan right now!
They told me the fake meat product is super growing in the US. The contrast (quite non healthy stuffs are popular in Japan, healthy foods in the US) is so interesting for me.
Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge!

My friend taught me a nice cafe especially for breakfast near Kamogawa river.
The name is “Me Me Me”, it looks like a cafe in Portland.
I really enjoyed the meal even I rarely have breakfast.
And this perfect cocoa made my day💖

We still have beautiful autumn leaves even around Christmas. This is quite rare in Japan (the first time ever for me) so maybe climate change is real.
One good thing is we can enjoy this gorgeous view much longer than usual.

French women came from Paris. They live close to where I used to live :)
Today, our class has more process to prepare and cook than before but they did all very well and look so easy!
Merci d’être venu à notre cours de cuisine japonaise !
A bientôt et bon voyage!

Had a amazing potluck dinner at my friend’s place. Around end of December, we often have “forget-this-year-party” in Japan. We talked so much and I came back to my place around 3am! Thank you for inviting us!

My guests asked me to make sushi roll (maki sushi) and they have cooked very well✌️
After few weeks passed, they send me some pics which they tried to make sushi by their own !! This is amazing!! There are even nigiri sushi which I didn’t show them!! I’m really proud of both of you!! Bravo👏
Our goal is not only be just a “one-day experience”, but you will find how easy Japanese cooking is and be able to confidently make authentic dishes by themselves!
I also hope that all my guests can enjoy Japanese cooking in their home country and show off to third friends and family what they have learned🌟
