The Center for Southeast Asian Studies at Kyoto University proudly presents the new issue (42) of Kyoto Review of Southeast Asia (1 March 2026) titled "Non-traditional Security Challenges.” We have five articles as follows:

1. The challenges of addressing Myanmar's post-2021 security challenges, by Moe Thuzar
2. Thailand's anti-scam efforts are well behind the pace of criminality, by Mark S. Cogan
3. Glorifying terrorism, ignoring religious intolerance, by Sumanto Al Qurtuby
4. Climate action in Southeast Asia: Responses from ASEAN and the Philippines, by Virgemarie A Salazar
5. Mass Remigration as a non-traditional threat in Cambodia, by David Hutt

In this issue, we have Mark S Cogan, who is associate professor of Peace and Conflict Studies, Kansai Gaidai University, Japan, serving as the Guest Editor.

All articles are translated from English into Japanese, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Filipino, Vietnamese, Burmese, and Khmer.
