CALL FOR APPLICATIONS! JAPANESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2027

The Government of Japan offers MEXT scholarship program, which is a governmental full scholarship program, to international students who wish to study in Japan. It covers tuition fee, monthly stipend and round-trip ticket from Myanmar to Japan. The Embassy of Japan is pleased to announce that applications for the MEXT Scholarship 2027 intake are open until 13 May.

There are four types of the program, including research students program, undergraduate students program, college of technology students program and specialized training college students program. Please check the following website for the guidelines and application forms and related documents of each program.

Study Program: The candidate will apply for the PhD program in Natural Resources at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing).

Research Focus: The doctoral research will focus on tropical shifting cultivation. I will serve as the candidate's doctoral advisor.

Key Deadline: To ensure sufficient time for the candidate to prepare a strong application, we would be grateful if the recommendation could be made by January 16, 2026. In hypothesis testing, there are two classic ways things can go wrong:

• Type I error (false positive): You conclude that something is true when it actually isn’t.
In everyday terms: you detect a signal that isn’t there. In the image: telling a man, with full medical confidence, “You’re pregnant.”

• Type II error (false negative): You conclude that something is not true when it actually is.
