Our second mini summer at UNITAS was all about FREE cucumbers! 🥒✨

We enjoyed some nice, chilled cucumbers with our favorite toppings and seasonings! 😊

🍉 UNITAS Watermelon Festival! 🍉

As a surprise event at UNITAS, we had a Watermelon Party! ✨

We prepared 9 giant watermelons for our approximately 500 students.

The temperature reached 40°C (104°F) that day 🥵

Nothing beats ice-cold watermelon on a hot summer day! 🍉❄️

It was the perfect way to cool off and enjoy the summer together. 🌞

Our UNITAS surprise event was a huge success, and everyone had a great time! 📸✨

🌿 Hokuto City! 🐑🐐🐎

Located in the mountains, Hokuto is full of beautiful hiking trails, waterfalls, and farms—making it the perfect summer getaway.

🍃 1. Doryu Falls
A beautiful waterfall surrounded by cool forest trails. The hiking paths around the falls are incredibly refreshing on a hot summer day.

🐑 2. Makiba Park
The views are amazing!
You can meet sheep and horses while enjoying the wide-open scenery.

🍦 3. Seisen-ryo
One of Kiyosato's most famous spots.
Don't miss their delicious soft-serve ice cream—it's a local favorite!

🏔 4. Meshimori-yama Hiking Trail
A beginner-friendly hike that takes about one hour.
It's an easy walk, and the panoramic view from the summit is absolutely worth it! (The photo was taken from the top of Mt. Meshimori, overlooking the Yatsugatake Mountains.)

If you're visiting Yamanashi in summer, Hokuto City is a wonderful place to enjoy cool mountain air and beautiful nature. 🌿✨

【✨卒業生インタビュー✨】

「自分で自分を救えるようになったこと」が、日本に来て最も意味のある経験でした。

大学時代に日本語を学び、N1を取得した載舟さんは、周囲が大学院進学を目指す中、自ら日本留学という道を選びました。

来日前に貯めたお金をもとに来日し、ユニタスでは基礎から学び直しながら、大学院受験の準備を本格的にスタート。

平日は研究計画書の作成や論文を読み込み、週末はアルバイト。

勉強と生活を両立させる日々は決して楽ではありませんでした。

それでも、自分が本当に研究したいテーマを追い続け、努力を積み重ねた結果、名古屋大学大学院教育発達科学研究科に合格しました。

しかし、載舟さんにとって留学で得た一番の成果は、合格そのものではありません。異国で苦しさや孤独を感じたとき、自分の心の声に耳を傾け、自分自身を支えられるようになったこと。

それこそが、日本で得た何より大きな成長でした。

新しい環境で始まる研究生活が、さらに実り多いものになることを願っています。おめでとうございます！🌸

【✨Graduate Interview✨】

“The most meaningful thing I gained in Japan was learning how to save myself.”

After earning the JLPT N1 during university, Zaizhou chose a different path from many of his classmates. Instead of going straight to graduate school, he decided to study in Japan.

Using the money he had saved before coming to Japan, he enrolled at UNITAS, where he strengthened his academic foundation while preparing for graduate school applications.

His weekdays were spent reading academic papers and developing his research proposal, while weekends were dedicated to part-time work. Balancing study and daily life was never easy.

Despite the challenges, he stayed committed to the research topic he truly cared about. Through perseverance and hard work, he was accepted into the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at Nagoya University.

For Zaizhou, however, the greatest achievement of studying abroad was not the admission itself. It was learning to listen to his inner voice and support himself during the moments of loneliness and hardship in a foreign country.

That, he says, was the most valuable growth he experienced in Japan.

Congratulations, Zaizhou! Wishing you every success in this exciting new chapter of your academic journey. 🌸
