Here is an update on our short-term study abroad program at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada, which began on Tuesday, July 21.

On Day 15, the final day of classes, each class held a closing ceremony to mark the completion of the program.

All three teachers who guided our students throughout the program were warm, caring, and sincerely dedicated to each and every student. The experience of learning while interacting with so many different people has become an invaluable and unforgettable part of their journey.

o conclude the program, the students enjoyed a farewell party with the teachers and buddies who had supported them throughout their stay. They performed dances, quizzes, and other activities they had been preparing over the past two weeks, filling the venue with smiles and laughter. To bring the celebration to a close, the students performed our school song. The teachers and buddies praised them warmly, not only for their performances but also for their positive attitude and dedication to learning throughout the program.

On their final night, some students stayed in the dormitory lounge until just before bedtime, making the most of every last moment with their buddies.

Then came the final day. With smiles and tears, the students said to their buddies, “See you again,” before bidding farewell to Vancouver.

Surrounded by Canada’s beautiful natural environment and immersed in a different culture, the students gained a wide range of experiences and insights. It was a truly meaningful two weeks that allowed each of them to learn, grow, and return home with memories and friendships they will treasure for years to come.

Each year, our school offers two short-term overseas study programs, one in the summer and one in the spring, for students who wish to participate. This summer, three programs are being held: at Harvard University on the East Coast of the United States, the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) on the West Coast, and the University of British Columbia in Canada. At each destination, our students have the opportunity to engage in meaningful cross-cultural experiences.

Our short-term study abroad program at UC Berkeley (University of California, Berkeley) has entered its second half! Through continued learning and interaction on campus, we're starting to see gradual changes in our students' attitudes and behavior. Venturing beyond campus as well, they've discovered new learning experiences and made wonderful new connections in various places.

Every year, our school offers optional short-term overseas study programs during both the summer and spring breaks. This summer, three exciting destinations are available: Harvard University on the U.S. East Coast, the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) on the West Coast, and the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada. Through these programs, our students immerse themselves in different cultures while broadening their global perspectives.

The first group to depart was the Harvard University program. From July 19 to 26, fifteen students took on the challenge of studying at one of the world's most prestigious universities, embarking on an unforgettable week of academic and cultural experiences.

A team of volunteer students from the V1 (Grade 11) class has taken on the challenge of designing, building, and launching a model rocket. This year, our school was selected for the Global Rocketry Challenge, a prestigious competition that accepts only five schools nationwide, after our third attempt. Following the official team appointment ceremony in May, the students have been working hard toward the final rocket launch scheduled for October.

The Global Studies Program kicked off once again on Monday, July 20, and will run for five days!

Volunteer students from the S2 and K1 (Grade 10) classes are taking part in the program, communicating in English with international students and university students from overseas who are visiting our school. Throughout the week, they will engage in group discussions, collaborative activities, and presentations.

This year's theme is "Self Discovery Challenge." Students will explore questions of identity while reflecting on their own talents, strengths, and unique potential.Through meaningful cross-cultural interactions, students are challenged to deepen their understanding of themselves while developing the confidence and communication skills needed to thrive in a global society.

As part of our efforts to protect students from the summer heat, permanent mist showers have been installed across our campus this summer.

After a successful trial last year, the system has now been officially introduced, with the installation area significantly expanded. We hope this will help our students stay cool, comfortable, and safe throughout the hot season.

Mist showers are installed along the slope from the school gate to the school building, spraying automatically during morning arrival hours to help prevent heatstroke.
Students get a refreshing cool-down on their way to class. With summer heat still ahead, we'll keep up our heatstroke prevention efforts to keep students safe and comfortable.
