✨ Starting the new year in Isehara ✨
We’re kicking off 2026 by highlighting Diversity — one of the 5 key components of the World Campus program.
In Isehara, diversity came to life through the people we met — local Rotary Clubs, city officials (and the Mayor!), high school students, host families, and the many community members and volunteers who welcomed us so warmly and helped us feel at home. We visited the Nissan Heritage Collection, had general discussions with city staff, and even spoke with a priest at Oyama Afuri Shrine, a sacred mountain shrine that has protected the Kanto region and heard people’s wishes since ancient times.
At a local festival organized by the Isehara Rotary Club, students and locals came together to share culture, food, and conversation. The Isehara Heisei Rotary Club introduced us to traditional Japanese culture too — including the spinning top, Oyama koma, Isehara is known for.
The World Campus program is built on 5 components:
✨ Diversity
✨ Hands-on Education
✨ Host Families
✨ Community Contribution & Arigato Event
This month in Isehara, we’re sharing one component each week. Step by step, you can relive the journey until the next summer program in 2026 — just 5 months away!
