今日は卒業式があった。232人の卒業生のうち106名が留学生だった。彼らの民族衣装と明るさがこのビックイベントに花を添えてくれた。学校にとって留学生は本当に貴重な存在だと思う。基本的にほぼ全員内部進学で、AIプログラミング専攻、建築デザイン専攻、マーケテイング専攻、WEBクリエイター専攻、ホテルブライダル専攻、インターナショナルビジネス専攻、そしてグループ校である富山福祉短期大学社会福祉学科への進学となる。2年後みんなしっかり就職して社会に貢献できる人材になって飛び立っていってほしい！！！
Today we held our graduation ceremony.
Out of 232 graduates, 106 were international students. Their colorful traditional costumes and bright smiles added a special touch to this big event.
International students are truly a precious presence for our school. Almost all of them will continue their studies within our institution, majoring in AI Programming, Architectural Design, Marketing, Web Creation, Hotel & Bridal Studies, International Business, or entering the Department of Social Welfare at our group institution, Toyama College of Welfare Science.
Two years from now, I hope they will graduate, start their careers, and become professionals who make meaningful contributions to society.

昨日、当校の学校祭である「ビビット祭」が行われた。パフォーマンス大会ではダンスメンバーが頑張って３年連続で１位、３位を獲得した。新しく結成したNEW BIT BOYSというバンドも会場をしっかり盛り上げてくれた。模擬店では日本語学科がエスニック焼き鳥、インターナショナルビジネス学科が「チャウメン」（ネパール風焼きそば）を販売し大盛況だった。また日本語学科企画としては「地域連携国際バザー」「ヘナ体験」「外国語体験」「ミニライブ」を実施し、沢山の方に来ていただいた。特に「地域連携国際バザーは地域の方々から提供品をいただいて、留学生がそれを販売し、収益金をすべて「子ども食堂」に寄付するもので、すでに３年目を迎えている。年々協力してくださる方が増えている。これからもこういった地学一体の活動はする意味が大きい。一連のイベントを通して留学生が成長する機会となってくれればこれよりうれしいことはないと思う。
Yesterday, our school held its annual festival, the “Vivid Festival.”
In the performance competition, our dance team worked hard and won 1st and 3rd place for the third consecutive year.
A newly formed band called “NEW BIT BOYS” also energized the crowd with a great performance.
At the food stalls, the Japanese Language Department sold ethnic-style grilled chicken, while the International Business Department served “Chow Mein” (Nepalese-style fried noodles)—both were a big hit.
The Japanese Language Department also organized several activities, including the “Community Partnership International Bazaar,” “Henna Experience,” “Foreign Language Experience,” and “Mini Live Performances.” Many visitors came to enjoy these events.
The Community Partnership International Bazaar in particular has become a signature event. Local residents donate items, international students sell them, and all proceeds are donated to a children’s cafeteria. This year marks the third anniversary of the project, and the number of supporters continues to grow.
Activities like these, which connect the school and the local community, carry great significance.
Nothing would make me happier than seeing our international students grow through these experiences.

今日は地域連携社会見学ということで地域の方々を招き、YKKセンターパークとヒスイ海岸に行くイベントが実施された。私は残念ながらまだ右膝の状態が悪く一緒に行けなかったが、留学生も地域住民もスタッフもみんな大満足の一日だったようで、本当に良かったと思う。ヒスイ海岸では「本物のヒスイを探す」イベントをしてかなり熱心にみんな探していた。こういう大自然に抱かれるようなイベントは富山らしいし、これからもこういうイベントで富山の魅力をみんなに感じてもらいたい。

Today we held a community field trip, inviting local residents to visit YKK Center Park and the Jade Coast. Unfortunately, I couldn’t join because my right knee still isn’t in good shape, but it seems that the international students, local residents, and staff all had a wonderful time, which makes me really happy. At the Jade Coast, there was an event where everyone searched for “real jade,” and people got very enthusiastic about it. Events like this, where you can experience the beauty of nature, really capture the spirit of Toyama. I hope we can continue to share the charm of Toyama with everyone through activities like this.

富山県は高岡市などで本来の七夕🎋(旧暦7月7日)に七夕祭りをする事もあり、8月まで七夕の雰囲気が楽しめる。私達の学校ではいつも7月中旬頃、留学先達に短冊を書いてもらうのだが、いつも関心するのは、家族の幸せとか世界の平和とかいったメッセージがとても自然に書かれている事だ。もちろん多いのは日本語が上手になりたいとか、金持ちになりたいといった内容だが、みんなの思いに思わずほっこり😊
みんな幸せになれますように‼️

In places like Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture, some Tanabata festivals are held on the traditional date (July 7th of the lunar calendar), so we can enjoy the festive atmosphere all the way into August.

At our school, we usually have international students write their wishes on Tanzaku (wish strips) around mid-July. What always impresses me is how naturally they write messages like “happiness for my family” or “peace for the world.”

Of course, there are also many wishes like “I want to improve my Japanese” or “I want to be rich,” but reading everyone’s hopes and dreams always warms my heart. 😊

今日、留学生123名と教員みんな一緒にドイツ人聴講生セリーナ・リッターさんの素晴らしい一輪車演技を見せてもらい、インタビューもさせてもらった。
彼女は4月から当校に2が月程聴講生として来ていたが、明日が最終日となる。これだけのみんなの喝采を浴びるのは彼女にとってもいい思い出になるだろうと思う。ドイツに帰ってからも日本語の勉強も続けて、さらに技を磨いていってほしい。
Today, together with 123 international students and all our faculty members, we had the pleasure of watching an amazing unicycle performance by Ms. Celina Ritter, a German exchange student. We also had the opportunity to interview her afterward.
Selina has been auditing classes at our school since April, and tomorrow will be her last day with us. I believe receiving such enthusiastic applause from everyone will be a wonderful memory for her.
I hope she continues to study Japanese and further hone her skills after returning to Germany.

6年ぶりのミャンマー訪問！今回で6回目となる。以前と同じシェダゴンパゴダがよく見えるホテルを拠点に学校の広報＆学生募集活動を展開している。FacebookがVPNサーバーを介さないと繋がらない不便さはあるが、活動自体は順調に進んでいる。ただ、表には見えない治安のヤバさがあり、一人歩きは控えている。ミャンマーからは全てN4取得者が募集できており、今後が楽しみ😊

First visit to Myanmar in six years—my sixth visit in total! I’m based at the same hotel as before, with a great view of the Shwedagon Pagoda, while conducting school promotions and student recruitment activities. Although accessing Facebook requires a VPN, everything else is going smoothly. That said, the security situation beneath the surface is concerning, so I’m avoiding walking around alone. All students recruited from Myanmar have already obtained the N4 level, which makes me excited for what’s ahead!

今日は今年度４月、１０月日本語学科入学生の合同入学式があった。ネパール、ミャンマー、パキスタン、ベトナムの学生たち66名だ。代表のネパール人学生は「誓いの言葉」をしっかりと読み上げたし、短い練習時間でもある程度礼法もしっかりしていた。そのうえ、今日偶然学園に訪れたスリランカのゲストからも英語で祝辞をいただき、なかなか充実した入学式となった。みなさん！おめでとう！！
Today, we held a joint entrance ceremony for the Japanese Language Department students who enrolled in April and October of this academic year, with a total of 66 students from Nepal, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Vietnam. The representative from Nepal confidently read the "Oath of Commitment," and despite the limited practice time, they demonstrated a good grasp of formal etiquette. Additionally, we were fortunate to receive congratulatory remarks in English from a guest from Sri Lanka who happened to visit the school today, making the ceremony quite fulfilling. Congratulations to everyone!

私達の学校では、2022年9月から射水市との包括連携協定の一環として、ウクライナ避難民日本語支援をしています。昨日の授業にNHKと北日本新聞が取材に入りました。終わりの見えない戦争の被害者に対する最小限の支援だと思って取り組んできました。これからも責任を持って続けるつもりです。

Our school has been providing Japanese language support for Ukrainian refugees as part of a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the city of Imizu since September 2022. NHK and the Kitanihon Shimbun newspaper covered our class yesterday. We have been working on this project because we believe it is the minimum support for the victims of the war that has no end in sight. We intend to continue with our responsibility.

今日、IHNO奨学金の説明会がありました。アルバイトをしながら留学生活を過ごしている留学生に返済不用の奨学金を与えるものです。毎月3万円を2年間ですから、かなり助かります。少しでも多くの学生が奨学金受給者になってほしいです。

Today, there was an information session on the IHNO Scholarship. It is a scholarship that does not need to be repaid to international students who are studying abroad while working part-time. It is 30,000 yen per month for two years, so it is quite helpful. I hope that as many students as possible will become scholarship recipients.
