Hiroshima Design Lab(以下HDL)は新たな協創の場を目指し広島に設立されました。ここでは教育機関と地元企業、学生と社会人が横断的なコラボレーションを行い、モノづくりにおける新たな価値やそれを支える次世代の人材を創出する研究や教育を行っています。
HDLは広島工業大学環境学部建築デザイン学科に設置され、最先端のモノづくりを実践する 「デジタルファブリケーションラボ」と、全国でも最大規模の木工室である「ウッドショップ」を拠点としています。この場を介して生まれる様々な研究者や地元企業の関係者との繋がりが、地域連帯型の新しい研究・教育ハブとなることを目指しています。
HDLで行われる研究は、分野の異なる研究室や企業との共同で行われるものが中心です。お互いの専門性を活かしながら、より社会に影響を与える事を重視し活動を行っています。
この様な環境の元で学生は地域や社会の課題を見つけ、その解決に向けての活動を積極的に行っています。HDLでの活動を通して高い問題意識を持ち、それを共有する人との繋がりを築いていくことで、将来地域や社会を大きく変えていく学生を育てています。
HIROSHIMA DESIGN LAB(HDL) is based in the Hiroshima Institute of Technology, where the Department of Architectural Design newly opened its Digital Fabrication Lab and Wood Shop. These are ideal spaces for investigating new ideas and designs with various facilities from cutting-edge technology to traditional woodworking technique. HDL will facilitate activities at the lab that will form the local and international hub for innovative research and education in Hiroshima. Researches and projects at HDL are multi-disciplinary. Built on our expertise, HDL strives to become the center for productive exploration and highly effective social contributions. By studying and researching at HDL, students will engage all HDL activities to ever-discover important issues in our area and society. They will go out into the world with an awareness and insight of the issues, together with the colleagues from HDL. We will send them out with high expectations they will have an important role and impact in the social future.
