“in a nutshell”
＝「要するに」「簡単に言うと」
nutshellの直訳はナッツの殻という意味ですが、in a nutshellと言うフレーズで使うと長い話や複雑な内容をギュッとまとめて伝えることができます。

We use 「要するに」 when we want to summarize what we have just said or give the main point.
The character "yo" (要) in the phrase "yosuru-ni" comes from the pivot of a folding fan, which connects and holds all the ribs together.
