Warehouse and Inventory Control Supervisor for Major Japanese Metal Trading Company in Cikarang Bekasi
Background:
The company is a Japanese Trading firm focusing on metal material and product parts, assisting strong Japanese steal and metal companies trading and logistics for rapid expansion into the Southeast Asian markets.
It has established a warehouse and logistics center in Cikarang, Bekasi West Java Indonesia.
The warehouse and logistics center will serve as own supply chain as well as assisting other companies’ trading and logistics in Indonesia.
Logistics and supply chain building has been traditionally strength of Japan’s business. The company’s businesses in Indonesia will build foundation for further expansion of Japan’s steel industry, automotive industry, and other infrastructure development
The company would like to have a core person who would shoulder its core operation in Indonesia, which is expected to be the most tangible market in the world in coming decades.
Responsibilities:
Warehouse and Inventory Control Supervisor will be initially located in Tokyo, Japan. She/he will learn the overall structure of business as a management candidate for 2-3 years of time in Tokyo.
The Supervisor will learn and acquire knowledge as follows:
i. Overall picture of steel industry and other related business sectors in Japan;
ii. Basic functions of Asai as a trading firm, which includes wholesale; supply chain; inventory control; warehousing; import/export administration; and initiator of investments. Such trading firm functions are particular functions of Japanese companies;
iii. Particular emphasis is on supply chain management, wholesale, and warehousing functions. Other factors will be assets for the supervisor for his future development taking account of his specialization and strength;
In 3-5 years of time, the supervisor is expected to lead the company’s warehousing, SCM, and wholesale businesses covering the Indonesian market.
Hence a long duration service as a leader is expected.
The supervisor will:
§ control inventory, intake and outtake of products to the warehouse;
§ assure quality, security and safety of products;
§ communicate with clients to meet their needs and advise optimized warehousing and logistics in Indonesia;
§ supervise administrative flows for intake and outtake of products;
§ supervise financial controlling related to warehousing;
§ plan and propose further business expansion beginning with observation and optimization of warehousing and wholesale functions of the company.
Such functions need understanding of broad functions of Japanese trading firms. Hence the Supervisor is expected to conduct and expand his functions gradually in line with his development and promotion.
Requirements:
Candidates have to have at least Bachelor’s Degree in Business related majors such as Business Administration, Logistics, Finance, and HR or equivalent.
Majors in engineering fields such as Metallurgy, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Material Science, Chemical Science, are also useful.
Other majors such as Sociology, Communication, Language, and Information Technology are also applicable. Motivation to utilize her/his knowledge and interest in industrial fields are highly appreciated.
Candidates shall have willingness to work as a management candidate (equivalent to management trainees in GE, IBM and others) for around 3 years in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. After that, she/he will be located in Cikarang, Bukasi, Indonesia. Willingness to work as a leader in the location, and accept possible relocation to other countries, are necessary.
High proficiency in English language as well as communication capability in Japanese language is required.
Japanese Language Proficiency is JLPT2 or equivalent. Business documents, proposals, and other complicated documents are in English. Japanese language proficiency is mainly to communicate orally with internal parties and Japanese clients.
Candidates without JLPT2 can apply if she/he is confident in his communication capability and capacity to obtain JLPT2 and higher later.
Indonesian nationals are encouraged to apply as the target market is Indonesia. Candidates who are confident in knowledge of local contexts and communication in Bahasa Indonesia can also apply.
Fresh graduate as well as junior professionals with several years’ experience are encouraged to apply. Graduating in fall 2013, spring 2014 is also applicable.
