(38. Ohisashiburi/Long Time No See, Hakata Eki! )

Dear fellows...ogenki desu ka

It's been two months I didn't provide time strolling at one of Fukuoka landmarks so called Hakata Eki/station. And todays' afternoon, having done a meeting with Kojima San and his friend, Nagao San, located in Gion Area, I decided to go to Hakata Eki.

Oups hold on before go to Hakata Eki...let me share you good news that I got from Nagao San, who working in Sankyo Company.

He offered to foreigner and Japanese who'd like to have a seminar/meeting (max 12 people), to use the space in his office without any charge. So guys... Don't shy, feel free to contact us if you need a free space for any social activities. The Sankyo company in Fukuoka located at the 10th floor of Nish*tetsu Building, Gion Area. If you take subway to get there, the nearest exit gate is at gate 4.

Now let me briefly tell you a nice thing and spot that I got in Hakata Eki.

There's a delicious Japanese Noodle (udon/soba) at the Hakata Hankyu Chika Ikkai or Umachika. As my friend recommendation, the most delicious is their Gobo udon/soba. Indeed!! Gobo crispness level here is at highest level among other noodle resto that I've tried before. It's super duper crunchy. The broth also has a very strong fish flavor without fishy aroma. I added dried fish crisp and chili, on top of my udon, even tastier! Guess how much did I pay? It's only 420¥, dear😊...

While nice spot for my exploration this time, is the public toilet at AMU. It is comparable with the toilet at 5 stars hotel...very neat with luxurious interior design and nice lighting. Don't forget to stop by here when you're in Hakata Eki😁.

[37. Visit of special guest from Myanmar]

Today we welcomed special guest from Myanmar to FUN student circle organised with students from local universities in Fukuoka.

FUN circle was established in 16th May 2003, main activity is 1. Company interview, 2. Publishing monthly magazine, 3. Weekly business seminar on Saturday morning.

(36) Free of charge workshop for int'l students on Creating Fukuoka's guidebook

Dear Fellows,

Don't you have any plan on weekend? Let's join this absolutely interesting event. It's a workshop which would let you take part in making a guidebook for our lovely city, Fukuoka !

First thing first...we're going to have a city tour then capturing any objects/pictures that we're interested on. The pictures should be taken using our own cellphone's camera. Finally, those pictures will be use as the main resources in creating a guidebook of Fukuoka.

(35. Some other options to support Kumamoto)

Konbanwaa my dear fellows,

Today ,18th April, is the last day of collecting donations in Daimyo Elementary School. And oupss...you missed it because of the tight schedule. Daijyoubu desu yoo...There some other options to support our neighbor in Kumamoto :

1. If you still want the donation collected by Fukuoka City, you may donate through
A. Money transfer via service counter (not the ATM) therefore you don't need to pay the transfer fee. Make sure to tell the bank officer that the money is donation for Kumamoto.

There are two banks could facilitate the donation for Kumamoto without transfer fee:
1) Fukuoka Bank Head Office (located in front of PARCO)
2) Nishi Nippon City Bank (Tenjin Branch).
This program will start from April 17th until May 13th !

B) If you want to donate large amount of goods (toilet papers, bottled water, diapers, sanitary napkins, etc) please call Fukuoka City Officer (092 733 5161) to manage it. Few days ago, Coca Cola West Japan donated 100.000 bottles of water.

2. Through Moslem Community in Fukuoka. They collect and accept donation, both in small or large quantity, such as:
1) Water
2) Food (dried food, rice, can food, bread, etc)
3) Disposable cutlery (chopstick, fork, spoon, plate/bowl, cup).
4) Diapers and sanitary products.

3. Through Japan Habitat Association. This organization collect disposable diapers. You can bring the diapers to 3-3-18 kasumigaoka higashiku Fukuoka 813-0811.

(34. Let see how Fukuokanese express their love for People in Kumamoto)

Dear Fellows,

This afternoon I went to (ex) Daimyo Elementary school, bringing donation for Kumamoto. Two words to describe the ambience there...well-organized !

At the school gate there were some volunteers welcomed us. They speak loudly, informed us which direction should we took to reach the place where they collected the donated stuffs.

From outside, I saw only few people coming but surprisingly...when arrived inside the school yard, there were many people already and many cars parked there.

Male volunteers mainly stand by at the parking area to help those who brought a lot of things. While two female volunteers were standing next to the entrance of indoor hall, building where they storage the donations. They explained about the space arrangement inside the hall from a simple layout map were sticked on the wall.

For example, I brought toilet papers so then from the entrance...I should go to the left side, first spot. I also brought sanitation napkins and the collecting spot at the right side. Each of the spots were managed by some volunteers as well.

Most of the volunteers are Fukuoka City Hall Officers. Some students and NPO members also participated. I have asked one of the officers, how to involve as volunteer? He said " You can get the information from The Major Facebook but I think you can just simply do it now without registration. You can help us bring the stuffs from parking lot to the hall. " Indeed, I saw many citizens voluntarily help the registered volunteer in carry out boxes/packages from the donators.

Fukuoka inhabitants from various ages (children to adult), groups (family, coworker, company, etc), nationalities (Japanese and foreigners) were looked very enthusiast and sincere doing this charity activity.

From my short conversations, I found out a man who could donated plenty of stuffs by collecting it from many friends in Fukuoka. While some people are coworkers in Royal Host restaurants, Fukuoka. Their main intention only to drop the donations but then they also helped this activity.

It's heartwarming to see how people in Fukuoka express their love, hand in hand supporting this charity event. I do appreciate the effort of Fukuoka Major in enhancing citizens participation through social media such as Facebook.

I believe you have the same feeling as mine regarding earthquake in Kumamoto. Since the last two days we were worried and even scared whenever we hear the hand phone alarm "Jishin desu...jishin desu".

Perhaps some of you were running out from apato, bringing some of your treasure but then finding nobody's outside. Hehehe I did it too, fellows!

Last three weeks were hectic days since my mother coming to Fukuoka attending my graduation ceremony. Anyway, though it’s late...CongGraduation!!... to all of you, who have accomplished study in Fukuoka. For the new comer…Welcome!!... I hope you will have wonderful life here.

During my mother's stay, we have attended some interesting events such as hanami and visited some nice places. Talking about visiting nice places, Kojima San and his wife (Mai San) invited us to visit 'Mizukara Beauty Salon'.

A Japanese spouse, Yuko San and Masa San, is the owner of this Beauty Salon. Few years ago Yuko San had been suffered with serious illness. As the impact, she got some problems on her face skin such as wrinkles, spots and dullness.

Having professional background as a dietitian and aesthetician, Yuko San decided to cure the skin problems using her knowledge. She believed that skin has an ability to reproduce itself internally. Therefore she'd like to support this process by providing appropriate nutrition for skin as the external treatment.

[31. How to start small drop-shipping business in Fukuoka]

Hello everyone, I've been very busy on some tasks of new fiscal year. During last three weeks I received some new orders from several countries. Some of these deals are so called "drop-shipping".

Have you ever heard of drop-shipping? This is flexible, low risk business that you don't have to form inventory (invest) while you can get commission safely.

What you need to do in international drop-shipping is;

1. Find reliable supplier and confirm good condition for both parties
2. Create your own website, blog, FB page, SNS page to promote your products in your language
3. (if available) Find local reliable buyer, partner
4. Receive order from customers, confirm payment, inform supplier, ask supplier arrange shipment
5. Get commission

Fukuoka is very good place for drop-shippers because there are many retail companies, authorized distributors of famous companies, especially the ratio of online marketing company is very high compared to other cities in Japan. It is not difficult to find unique, profitable products and capable, reliable suppliers.

The biggest problem for local Japanese companies is of course, language. If you support them to promote their products in your language and find new market in your country, you can work like "small Alibaba".

Finding job in Japan will be nice option, but creating small new business in Japan will also be wonderful option for your life. Many Japanese want to start something new, interesting, exciting with you! How about trying new chance in this Sakura season?
