SKT English Department, Inc. – Job Opening for English Teachers
•˙Location:
SKT English Department, Inc. operates at Kirin Kindergarten and Nursery School in Jonan-ku, Fukuoka. We design and deliver English curricula for children aged 0 to 12 years old in various programs.
Programs We Offer:
•CAN!P English School, an English after-school program operating from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, focusing on bilingual development.

Job Responsibilities
•Prepare and understand lesson curriculum and lesson plans
•Deliver engaging, interactive, and effective English lessons
•Organize and maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment
•Actively engage with children and foster their learning
•Plan and participate in preschool events and activities
•Manage children’s safety and well-being
•Attend staff meetings and teacher training sessions

🎓 Required Qualifications
To apply for a teaching position at SKT, you must meet the following requirements:
•Native-level English proficiency (English-speaking applicants preferred)
•Enjoys active, project-based activities with elementary students
•Positive, creative, and loves engaging with children through games and learning
•Ability to work in a multicultural environment with a positive attitude and teamwork
•Willingness to follow company policies, curriculum guidelines, and training programs
•Basic Japanese communication skills (JLPT N5 level or above) or a desire to learn
🌟 Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following background or skills will be given preference:
•Experience teaching English in elementary schools or working with after school
•TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certification, or a degree in education/child development
•Experience with activity-based learning, project-based learning, or STEM-style lessons
•Experience leading or mentoring other teachers
•Ability to design or adapt lesson plans creatively according to students’ levels and interests
•Long-term commitment (one year or more) and interest in career development within SKT
Job Types & Benefits
Part-Time Position
•Hourly Rate: ¥1,800–¥2,000 per hour
※During the training and lesson handover period (trial period), the hourly rate will be ¥1,500.
•Working Hours: 3 – 5 hours in the afternoon (13:30–18:30)
•Transportation Allowance: Covered up to ¥1,000 per day
•Health Insurance: Provided based on contract length
•Contract Period: March 2026 – March 31, 2027 (aligned with the Japanese school year)
•Transportation Allowance OR Housing Allowance:
Option: Transportation allowance covered up to ¥1,000/day
•Probationary Period: First 3 months
•Paid Leave (有給休暇):
First Year: 1 day of paid leave per month (total 12 days/year)
•After Contract Renewal: Paid leave will follow Japan’s labor laws
•Holidays:
•Summer vacation (2 weeks)
•Winter vacation
•Promotion System: Available after completing the first contract
