Nearly 4 Million Japanese Research Outputs Integrated into OpenAlex: Collaboration with NII's IRDB Dramatically Improves the Global Discoverability of Research from Japanese Institutional Repositories.

　The National Institute of Informatics (NII), part of the Research Organization of Information and Systems (ROIS) and led by Director-General Sadao Kurohashi, has integrated metadata from its Institutional Repositories DataBase (IRDB) into OpenAlex , one of the world's largest open scholarly information databases.
　As of August 18, 2026, metadata for nearly 4 million research outputs collected through IRDB is freely available to researchers and the public worldwide via OpenAlex.

　⼤学共同利⽤機関法⼈ 情報・システム研究機構 国⽴情報学研究所が運営する学術機関リポジトリデータベース（IRDB）のデータが、世界最⼤級のオープン学術情報データベース「OpenAlex」へ統合されました。
2026年8⽉18⽇時点で、IRDB を通じて収集された約 400 万件の研究成果のメタデータがOpenAlex から世界中に無償公開されています。
