Our Vision
We seek to foster the next generation of Japanese and Americans, a "TOMODACHI generation" of driven doers, thinkers and creators who are invested in the future of U.S.-Japan relations, appreciate each other's cultures and countries, and possess the globally oriented skills and mindsets needed to thrive and make a difference. To attain this vision, we will create new opportunities for t
his TOMODACHI generation, and help to enhance existing ones, in the areas of cross-cultural exchange, education, entrepreneurship, and leadership development. We will work with partners who share the TOMODACHI vision and have the means to support these initiatives through financial and in-kind contributions. Our Approach
To achieve its goals, TOMODACHI focuses on building partnerships among interested businesses, organizations, communities, and individuals. and Japanese governments, TOMODACHI works to:
- Increase the number of U.S. and Japanese students studying in each other’s countries; promote cultural awareness and exposure between the United States and Japan; support programs in academics, language, sports, and culture; and expand opportunities and support for entrepreneurs and future leaders;
- Connect financial, human and in-kind resources directly with projects and organizations that advance the goals of the TOMODACHI mission;
- Directly sponsor signature projects that advance the goals of TOMODACHI.
