One of my favorite conferences every year. The annual meeting did not disappoint. Participant reviews were over the top. Next year in San Diego will be even better. Hope to see you all there. .
If you’re into implants at a high level consider applying for your Diplomate or Masters certificate in implant dentistry. Like my man who got his Diplomate this year after a lot of hard work and diligent preparation. Big congrats to my mentor Dr. Peter Moy for the super prestigious Brannemark award.

Hot 🔥 off the press... The hemi-engaging implant supported FDP. While not entirely new, our hope is that this paper provides proper indications and rational for use of this design. In summary, short span FDPs (likely) benefit from the use of one engaging abutment and one non-engaging abutment. This is especially beneficial with modern implant designs where the connection is long and parallel which doesn’t not allow for use of all engaging abutments. The result of using all non-engaging abutments is nearly all of the more problematic oblique force vectors must be resisted solely but the abutment screw. Further testing is needed, but we will likely see prolonged life of the prosthesis without screw loosening. Full text available on the JPD website. .
