We held an international symposium for "World Water Day" on Mar 22 which is co-organized with Thammasat University and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Thailand.
Water is a worldwide common material, but in the environment, it shows many aspects to us.
We learned specific features of the climate, possible disasters, and policies for mitigation in Thailand.
We also learned the similar & dissimilar features with those of Japan.
The panel discussions clarified these aspects.
This is a kind of important aspect of "diversity."
We thank very much Dr. Supapap Patsinghasanee, Prof. Uruya Weesakul, and Prof. taichi Tebakari for the impressive presentations.
We also thank Prof. Hiroko Kudo for the nice moderation and Prof. Tadashi Yamada for the important comment from a broad view.

"Diversity" is one of the strategic keywords for Chuo University. We're going to promote research projects from Chuo University.

Today, Research Promotion Office joined (& co-organized) THE Seminar on University Ranking and index parameters.
After a compact & well-organized introduction of THE (World & Japan) Ranking by Shinken AD, Mr. Michael Lubacz, Director of Business Development, gave an interesting & impressive talk on ho do we use the indices for our promotion.
This event was originally planned as a part of FD & SD to get the knowledge on ranking.
But we believe that many members in the higher management level had some ideas on the evidence-based and scientific promotion of our activities not only on research but also in education and social contribution.

Although the situations caused by COVID-19 are still hard, the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) is trying to bolden the relationships with Japan.
Yes, we, Chuo University, are also watching the activities and expecting to do something to make progress for the future.
