[PLAGIARISM AND REFERENCING WORKSHOP]
Did you know that plagiarizing of any kind in a report (even copying only one sentence but not citing it) can result in an automatic F for all your classes for the semester and the loss of your scholarship as well?

Have no fear because the Writing Center is presenting a workshop on how to avoid plagiarism, and how to cite sources correctly. This hands-on workshop will help you learn:
1. What counts as PLAGIARISM
2. How NOT to plagiarize
3. How to CITE

Our workshop is primarily targeted at Workshop I students to help them improve their citation skills thus leading to a better final paper, but any student regardless of their semester is welcome to attend.

Date: 21st December
Time: Wednesday 4th period (14:14-15:50)

[The Writing Center Basic Academic Writing Workshop] November 16th, 2016.

We, tutors at the Writing Center, would like to express our gratitude to all the wonderful participants in yesterday's workshop. [Model Essay about a Famous Person]
Do you know who Edith Wharton was?
Edith Wharton was an exceptional writer and the first woman to be awarded the Pulitzer Prize with her novel "The age of Innocence". Her success has proved that if you put your mind into doing what you want, nothing can stop you, even your gender.

WRITING CENTER OPENS FROM APRIL 28 (Thursday)

Do you...

have reports to write but I don't know where to start?
want to improve your report, but don't know how?

Then come to the Writing Center for help!
Writing tutors have been specially trained to help you write a clearer, more academic and organized report. Writing tutors are also trained to help you brainstorm and outline if you do not know how to start your essay.
The Writing Center will open from April 28 (Thu), 3rd period. You can reserve a session at the Writing Center desk from April 25th (Mon).

Place: APU Library 1F PANGAEA 3

SCHEDULE:
Monday: 3rd, 4th and 6th period
Tuesday: 3rd -6th period
Wednesday: 3rd period
Thursday: 3rd, 5th and 6th period
Friday: 3rd -4th period

1 Session is 40 minutes.

*If there is no prior reservation, you can be served on a walk-in basis, so please come and make use of the Writing Center. We look forward to meeting you there.
