Mission:
JAMS is a quality focused maritime institution providing comprehensive services of (MET) while committed to customers, employees, owners and the maritime community in general. JAMS Objectives
To provide local and international markets with highly qualified navigating officers and marine engineers who are competent to man the Jordanian, Arab, and international fleet.
To re-qualify current seafarers in accordance with STCW 1978 convention as amended.
To conduct economic, technical and managerial studies in the maritime transport field, and also to actively participate in local, Arab and international events in this field.
To organize training programs in various maritime transport and logistics activities. Activities

About 500 students are now enrolled in the Academy from different countries (Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Palestine, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Egypt, Oman, Greece, India, Philippine, Yemen, Kuwait, Algeria, Bahrain, Italia, Canada, Cyprus, Austria, etc.
JAMS welcomes students from all countries who hold the General Secondary School Certificate or equivalent to join the path that suits their qualifications.
Attendance for all students is compulsory in all lectures in accordance with the requirements for each course.
E-learning is being considered for maritime education at international level. JAMS is also considering this issue.
JAMS graduates are qualified to work on board merchant ships working world – wide. Special Training Courses
The Academy provides a wide range of training courses which are accredited by Jordan Maritime Commission and meet the standards required by the International Convention on the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watch keeping for seafarers, (STCW) 1978, and its amendments. Safety Courses
JAMS provides a list of marine safety courses which comply with the standards required by the International Convention on the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watch keeping for seafarers, (STCW) 1978, and its amendments, Examples include:
Courses for Electrical and communication engineers.
Basic (Mandatory) Safety courses.
Towing, Pilotage and Marine Survey.
Special courses for Oil and chemical Tanker and Gas Carrier.
Ship handling, maneuvering & mooring operations. Shipping and Management Training
JAMS runs several training courses such as:
Special Marine Courses (insurance, accident investigation, etc.),

Revalidation (Renewal) of COC’s courses for all ranks.
Electro – Technical Officers(ETO).
Electro – Technical Rating (ETR).
Able seafarer for both Engine and Deck departments. Training Facilities
Navigational (Bridge) Simulator: Full mission Navi - Training Professional 5000 holds a degree (A) according to the order done by the Norwegian classification society (DNV) for simulators.
Engine Room Simulator: Full Mission Engine Room simulator (ERS 5000, ERS Techsim 5000).
Class Rooms (air conditioned, white boards/ smart boards, data show, videos, etc.).
Languages lab. (JAMS is now an approved center to conduct “Marlins” English Language test.
Hydraulic and electrical lab.
Engineering workshops.
Safety lab.
Swimming pool.
Computer lab. Research and Studies
Internal researches for JAMS (statistics, evaluations, etc.).
External research for Ministries, companies, Maritime institutions and academies (as needed). Consultancy

JAMS is accredited by Jordan Maritime Commission.
Listed on the IMO White List of approved institutions (2008).
European Union declared recognition of the Maritime Training and Education Scheme as provided by JAMS (2012).
JAMS established and comply with its own Quality Management system and satisfies the ISO 9001:2015 requirement as Maritime Education and Training provider according to the IMO Standards and STCW 78 amendments requirements. Collaboration with other Institutions
