As freshwater availability reaches critically low levels, the need for stronger governance, smarter water use, and coordinated action has never been more urgent.

🌿 زار وفد من الصندوق الائتماني متعدد الشركاء (كندا، إيطاليا، النرويج، سويسرا) برفقة ممثلين عن وزارة التربية والتعليم الأردنية، مدرسة حفصة بنت عمر، إحدى المدارس التجريبية ضمن مبادرة التعليم الأخضر التي تنفذها اليونسكو بالشراكة مع وزارة التربية والتعليم، وبالتعاون مع اللجنة الوطنية الأردنية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم، في إطار شراكة التعليم الأخضر.

الزيارة التي نُظمت في إطار برنامج شراكة دعم النظام أبرزت كيفية مساهمة دعم اليونسكو لوزارة التربية والتعليم في تهيئة بيئات تعلّم أكثر استدامة، وتعزيز مشاركة الطلبة، بما يتماشى مع ركائز شراكة التعليم الأخضر، من خلال:

🌿 A delegation representing Multi-Partner Trust Fund Members: Canada, Italy, Norway, and Switzerland, alongside representatives from Jordan’s Ministry of Education, visited the Hafsa Bint Omar School, one of the pilot schools under the Greening Education initiative implemented by UNESCO in partnership with the Ministry of Education, and in collaboration with the National Commission for Education, Science and Culture in line with the Greening Education Partnership.

The visit, organized within the framework of the Systems Strengthening Partnership Programme (SSP), highlighted how UNESCO’s support has helped the MoE advance greener learning environments and student engagement in line with the pillars of the Greening Education Partnership, through;

🔹Student-led environmental initiatives

🔹Sustainable school facilities

🔹Interactive learning activities that promote environmental awareness and sustainable action

This visit highlights a shared commitment to advancing quality education that fosters environmental awareness and empowers students to lead sustainable change.

📢 ورشة العمل الثالثة للخطة العشرية لترشيد المدارس

نظّمت اليوم اليونسكو بالتعاون مع وزارة التربية والتعليم الأردنية ورشة العمل الثالثة ضمن الخطة العشرية لترشيد المدارس (2026–2036)، وذلك استكمالاً للجهود السابقة نحو بناء نظام تعليمي أكثر كفاءة وإنصافاً واستدامة.
تهدف الورشة إلى الخروج بتوصيات عملية لترشيد استخدام الموارد المتاحة، والاستناد إلى التخطيط القائم على الأدلة، بما يعزز قدرة النظام التعليمي على الاستجابة للتغيرات الديموغرافية والاقتصادية.
ركزت الورشة على ثلاثة محاور:
• التوسع في الوصول إلى رياض الأطفال وضمان القدرة الاستيعابية الكاملة لمرحلة KG2
• التوسع في التعليم المهني (BTEC) وربطه باحتياجات التنمية الاقتصادية الوطنية
• تحسين المرافق المدرسية وتعزيز كفاءتها واستدامتها
كما ناقشت الجلسات:
✔️ التوقعات المستقبلية لزيادة أعداد الطلبة خلال السنوات العشرة القادمة
✔️ احتياجات التوسع في البنية التحتية والقدرة الاستيعابية
✔️ وضع توصيات عملية قابلة للتنفيذ تدعم تنفيذ الخطة
👥 تُواصل اليونسكو بالشراكة مع وزارة التربية والتعليم العمل على تعزيز التخطيط القائم على الأدلة، لضمان نظام تعليمي يلبي احتياجات كل متعلم في الأردن.
نُظمت ورشة العمل هذه ضمن برنامج شراكة دعم النظام بتمويل من الصندوق الائتماني متعدد الشركاء، بمساهمات من كندا، والوكالة الإيطالية للتعاون الإنمائي، وسويسرا، والنرويج، بما فيها الخبرات الفنية العينية عبر برنامج نوركاب.

📢 Third Workshop on the Ten-Year School Rationalization Plan
Today, UNESCO, in collaboration with Jordan’s Ministry of Education, convened the third workshop as part of the Ten-Year School Rationalization Plan—advancing efforts toward a more efficient, equitable, and sustainable education system.
The workshop focused on the three remaining priority areas:
🔹 Expanding kindergartens and ensuring full access and capacity for KG2
🔹 Scaling up vocational education (BTEC) aligned with national economic development needs
🔹 Improving school facilities, efficiency, and sustainability
Discussions also addressed:
✔️ Projected student enrollment growth over the next decade
✔️ Infrastructure and capacity expansion needs
✔️ Practical, actionable recommendations to support plan implementation
👥 With participation from the Ministry of Education and UNESCO teams, the workshop continues to strengthen evidence-based planning to better serve every learner in Jordan.
This workshop was organized as part of the System Strengthening Partnership Programme, funded by the Multi-Partner Trust Fund with contributions from Canada, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Switzerland, and Norway, including in-kind technical expertise through the NORCAP program.
