Mela’s Masterclass is once a year. The Mela experience is year-round — and that part is built by our Chapter Presidents.

They are the network’s frontline. They convene members, open doors, and create the learning, connection, and exposure that make membership meaningful in each country.

And as their two-year terms conclude, we thank the Mela outgoing Chapter Presidents, and revisit the impact and events they initiated that sparked ideas, opportunities and growth across the region. With gratitude to:

This summer, we celebrate a new chapter in Mela’s journey as Dr. Sora Al Rowas begins her term as Board Chair, furthering her commitment to Mela, connected leadership, collaboration, and impact.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sheikh Hassan AlKabbani for his exceptional leadership, vision, and dedication throughout his time as Chair, and over the past decade he has served on the Mela Board. His contributions have shaped Mela’s growth and strengthened our global community.

At the same time, we warmly welcome Mr. Yousuf Al Yousuf as transitional Incoming Board Chair from 2026 to March 2027 - stepping into this role for the second time. We look forward to the leadership, energy, and perspective he will bring as Mela continues to grow and connect leaders across the world.

A Chartered Director and internationally recognized expert in corporate governance, compliance, and EHS, Dr. Waddah brings nearly three decades of executive leadership experience and over 14 years of board service across the energy sector and international organizations. As Chairman of the Platform for Connected Leadership in the UAE, he has championed leadership and governance excellence while serving in prominent international roles, including with the Energy Institute UK, the GCC Board Directors Institute, and the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF).

Recognized among Egypt’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in 2021, she has played a pivotal role in advancing strategic partnerships, supporting regional investment initiatives, and championing diversity and leadership throughout her career.

This immersive 10-day experience is designed for high-potential, established leaders and change-makers across industries, sectors, and communities. The Mela Masterclass offers a unique space for personal growth, leadership development, innovation, and cross-cultural collaboration among a diverse and distinguished group of professionals from across the Arab world.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:
Age Range: 30–45 years approximately
Citizenship: Arab world
Profile: Established professionals, leaders, and change-makers across business, entrepreneurship, media, academia, civil society, government, or related sectors.
