Abdul Hamid Sharaf School

It was founded by Farid and Sue Dahdah, in 1980. Accredited through 2030. AHSS is currently accredited by Cognia, formerly known as AdvancED through 2030.

Abdul Hamid Sharaf School is a private, coeducational, non-parochial, K-12 day school serving the needs of a diverse group of students, international and local in Amman, Jordan. The American stream uses American textbooks and curriculum. Cambridge and Pearson syllabi are used in the British stream. The graduates of the American and British system high school programs at AHSS are able to obtain equivalency of their school diploma with Tawjihi (the national high school certificate), from the Jordanian Ministry of Education.

Our second graders put on a wonderful program to celebrate Independence Day! They performed in front of parents and staff and did an amazing job. Thank you to our teachers who helped the students and organized such a great celebration!

We had an amazing Graduation Ceremony last night! Mabrook to all 39 of our graduates! It was wonderful to celebrate them amongst family and friends under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Alia Al-Tabbaa! Thank you to the dozens of staff and friends who made the night possible and made it such a success! We all love our graduating class of 2026 🎓♥️💐

6th graders in Ms. Yasmeen and Ms. Razan’s science class had a tasty lesson in genetics before finals! They used different types of chocolates to represent dominant and recessive genes, pulled them out of a cup, and track how a gene pool would develop over generations. What a cool lesson 🧬🍫

Congratulations to one of our 4th graders, Carissa Amiruddin, who competed in the Gymastex Artistic Gymnastics Competition in Dubai last week and won gold in every category she participated in. We are so proud of you Carissa!

Eid crafts! Our kindergarteners and first graders made wonderful Eid Al-Adha crafts last week at school! We love seeing their creativity! Thank you to our kindergarten and first graders teachers for helping them too! 🐑🐑

Three of our 7th graders were recently recognized in the Lumiere Education Junior Explorer writing contest! Congratulations to Layan Ismail for receiving the Distinction Award & $750 Scholarship, and to Hashem Dulaimi and Joury Qasim for receiving the Rising Scholars Award & $500 Scholarship. We are so proud of our students and their writing skills. Thank you to Ms. Maram for encouraging them to apply for this exciting program!
