The chapter and society's field of interest is the application of concepts from the physical and engineering sciences to the fields of medicine and biology.

تعد منظمة مهندسين الالكترونيات والكهرباء (IEEE) اكبر منظمة احترافية تسعى لتطوير التكنولوجيا لمنفعة البشرية. تقوم المنظمة بذلك عبر نشر الأبحاث، تنسيق المؤتمرات، وإقامة نشاطات ثقافية واحترافية. وتحتوي المنظمة على أفرع بإختصاصات عديدة ومنها فرع الهندسة الطبية الحيوية (EMBS) وتعد أكبر منظمة عالمية للهندسة الطبية، حيث تتفرع ب ٩٧ دولة. ويقوم الفرع بمنح أعضاءه العديد من الفوائد تتعلق ببناء المسيرة المهنية. وتنقسم الأفرع لشعبة طلابية للطلاب وأخرى للمهندسين او الدكاترة، وفي رحاب جامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا أطلقنا الفرع الطلابي الفصل الماضي عبر أنشطة مميزة قام بها الفرع الطلابي.

ولذلك يسرنا إطلاق صفحتنا على الفيسبوك، وذلك لإيصال مواعيد أنشطتتنا وتفاصيلها، ولنتشارك ونتناقش بأبرز المواضيع التي تخصص الهندسة الطبية الحيوية, وستقتصر الشعبة على الأنشطة العلمية بشكل رئيسي من ورش عمل, مؤتمرات, دورات, وزيارات وغيرها من البرامج المميزة! The IEEE- EMB JUST Student Branch chapter is part of the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), which in turn is part of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). EMBS and chapter members are not necessarily electrical engineers, but come from a variety of backgrounds including computer science, medicine, bioengineering and biomedical engineering.

We are thrilled to welcome Mahmoud Sawalha, a third-year medical student, researcher, and inventor, has been immersed in the world of STEM since seventh grade in Qatar, where he participated in his school's robotics team.
He completed his middle and high school education as the leader of Qatar's robotics team for five years and obtained several international accolades:
* Strategy and Innovation Award at the Arab Robotics Championship in Jordan 2014.
* First place in the Engineering Design category at the FLL worldwide competition in Texas 2017.
* Gold medal at the ITEX - AYIE competition in Malaysia 2018.
* Bronze medal at the Middle East International Inventions Exhibition in Kuwait 2019.
* Third place in the Programming category at the FLL worldwide competition in Michigan 2019.
* Third place in the tattawar HSBC competition in Oman 2019.
Mahmoud continued his academic journey in medicine, where he merged medicine and engineering with his invention "Muh'taj" . This invention earned him the Best Research Award at the Global Congress of Integrated Health Care in 2022.
