يوم علمي بجامعة البترا يؤكد أن الذكاء الاصطناعي لن يكون بديلاً للقانونيين ويوصي بالتقييم الشفهي لطلبة الحقوق
أكد المشاركون في اليوم العلمي الأول لكلية الحقوق في جامعة البترا أن الذكاء الاصطناعي لا يمكن أن يكون بديلاً للقضاة والمحامين، موصين باعتماد التقييمات الشفهية أداةً رئيسيةً لقياس الفهم الحقيقي لدى الطلبة والحد من الاتكالية على التكنولوجيا. وجاءت فعاليات الملتقى، الذي أقيم برعاية رئيس الجامعة الأستاذ الدكتور رامي عبد الرحيم، وبحضور عميد كلية الحقوق الدكتور علي الدباس، تحت عنوان "مستقبل التعليم القانوني: بين أصالة الخبرة وتحديات التكنولوجيا"، بمشاركة نخبة من الأكاديميين والقانونيين.
وحذر عبد الرحيم من تحول الذكاء الاصطناعي إلى المصدر الوحيد للمعلومة، لما قد يسببه ذلك من فقدان مهارة التمييز بين المعلومات الصحيحة وغير الدقيقة، وتراجع قدرة الأجيال على نقد وتحليل مخرجات الأنظمة الرقمية. وأوضح أن الذكاء الاصطناعي يمتلك قدرات معرفية متقدمة في التكيف والتحليل والتصحيح الذاتي، إلا أنه لا يمكن أن يغني عن الفهم الحقيقي أو يحل محل القاضي أو المحامي الخبير الذي يمتلك المعرفة التأسيسية والقدرة على التقييم السليم.
واقترح رئيس الجامعة الإبقاء على الأسلوب التقليدي في تدريس المساقات القانونية لترسيخ مهارات التفكير النقدي، مع توظيف تطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي بوصفها أدوات مساندة في المراحل المتقدمة من الدراسة الأكاديمية. وأكد أن التكنولوجيا تظل وسيلة داعمة للمحامي والباحث تسهم في توفير الوقت والجهد، ولا يمكن أن تكون بديلاً عن العقل البشري والاجتهاد الشخصي.
من جانبه، استعرض الدكتور عمر أعمر الإشكاليات التشريعية المرتبطة بالأنظمة الذكية، مبيناً أن الفقه القانوني لم يمنح الذكاء الاصطناعي شخصية قانونية مستقلة، سواء كانت طبيعية أو اعتبارية. وأشار إلى غياب تشريعات شاملة تنظم هذا القطاع، واقتصار الأطر الحالية على مواثيق وأدلة أخلاقية، الأمر الذي يستدعي تطوير المناهج الأكاديمية لتأهيل الطلبة للتعامل مع مفاهيم "القانون الرقمي" وتوظيف البيانات الضخمة في رسم السياسات التعليمية وتعزيز أنماط التعليم الهجين.
وأوضح عميد الكلية الدكتور علي الدباس أن التكوين الأكاديمي في كلية الحقوق يهدف إلى بناء العقل القانوني القادر على التحليل والاستنباط، انسجاماً مع دعوة عضو مجلس نقابة المحامين الأردنيين المحامي لؤي العمايرة إلى تحديث المناهج القانونية وتطوير مهارات البحث العلمي والتفكير النقدي. وأكد العمايرة أن التكنولوجيا تمثل أداة مساندة تسهم في رفع كفاءة العمل وتعزيز الوصول إلى العدالة، مستبعداً أن تلغي دور العقل البشري والاجتهاد القضائي والمهني.
كما استعرض الأستاذ الدكتور محمد أبو بكر خبرته الممتدة لأكثر من ثلاثة عقود في تدريس القانون المدني، مؤكداً خلال الجلسة التي أدارها الأستاذ الدكتور صايل المومني أن تدريس القانون يجمع بين العلم والفن، ويتطلب تخطيطاً مسبقاً ومراعاة الفروق الفردية بين الطلبة. وشهدت الجلسات نقاشات موسعة حول أثر الأدوات الرقمية في السرية المهنية والمسؤولية القانونية في الممارسة العملية للمحامين والقضاة.
وفي ختام الفعاليات، سلم رئيس الجامعة درعاً تقديرية للأستاذ الدكتور محمد أبو بكر تقديراً لعطائه العلمي المتميز، كما كرم المحامي لؤي العمايرة تقديراً لمشاركته الفاعلة. وقدم عميد الكلية درعاً تكريمية لرئيس الجامعة لرعايته الفعاليات، وأخرى لأبو بكر تقديراً لعطائه الأكاديمي خلال ثلاثة أعوام من العمل في كلية الحقوق بجامعة البترا، فيما قدم طلبة الكلية درعاً تكريمية لأبو بكر تعبيراً عن تقديرهم لمسيرته التعليمية.
University of Petra Scientific Day Affirms AI Will Not Replace Legal Professionals and Recommends Oral Assessment for Law Students
Participants in the First Scientific Day of the Faculty of Law at the University of Petra affirmed that artificial intelligence cannot replace judges and lawyers, recommending oral assessments as a primary tool for measuring students’ genuine understanding and reducing overreliance on technology. The event, held under the patronage of University President Professor Rami Abdel-Rahem and attended by Dean of the Faculty of Law Dr. Ali Al-Dabbas, was titled “The Future of Legal Education: Between the Authenticity of Expertise and the Challenges of Technology.” The forum brought together academics and legal professionals to discuss the evolving landscape of legal education.
Professor Abdel-Rahem warned against allowing artificial intelligence to become the sole source of information, noting that such dependence could undermine the ability to distinguish reliable information from inaccurate content and weaken future generations’ capacity to critically evaluate digital outputs. He explained that while AI possesses advanced capabilities in adaptation, analysis, and self-correction, it cannot substitute for genuine understanding or replace experienced judges and lawyers who possess foundational knowledge and sound judgment.
The University President proposed maintaining traditional approaches to teaching legal courses in order to strengthen critical-thinking skills, while integrating AI applications as supportive tools during the advanced stages of academic study. He emphasized that technology should remain an aid for lawyers and researchers, helping save time and effort, rather than serving as a replacement for human reasoning and professional judgment.
Dr. Omar Aamar reviewed the legislative challenges associated with intelligent systems, explaining that legal jurisprudence has not granted artificial intelligence an independent legal personality, whether natural or juridical. He pointed to the absence of comprehensive legislation governing the sector and noted that existing frameworks remain largely limited to ethical guidelines and charters. He stressed the need to update academic curricula to prepare students for the emerging field of digital law and to utilize big data in policymaking and hybrid education.
Dean of the Faculty of Law Dr. Ali Al-Dabbas stated that legal education aims to develop analytical and deductive legal thinking, echoing the call made by Jordanian Bar Association Council Member Lawyer Luay Al-Amayreh to modernize legal curricula and enhance scientific research and critical-thinking skills. Al-Amayreh emphasized that technology serves as a supportive tool that improves efficiency and access to justice, while remaining incapable of replacing human intellect and judicial or professional discretion.
Professor Mohammad Abu Bakr also shared insights from more than three decades of teaching civil law. During a session moderated by Professor Sayel Al-Momani, he stressed that legal education combines both science and art and requires careful planning as well as consideration of individual differences among students. Discussions further addressed the impact of digital tools on professional confidentiality and legal responsibility in the practical work of lawyers and judges.
At the conclusion of the event, Professor Abdel-Rahem presented a shield of appreciation to Professor Mohammad Abu Bakr in recognition of his distinguished academic contributions and honored Lawyer Luay Al-Amayreh for his active participation. The Dean of the Faculty of Law also presented a commemorative shield to the University President in appreciation of his patronage of the event, as well as another to Professor Abu Bakr in recognition of his academic service during three years at the Faculty of Law. Students of the faculty additionally presented him with a commemorative shield in appreciation of his educational and professional legacy.

توج رئيس جامعة البترا الأستاذ الدكتور رامي عبد الرحيم مشروع جهاز الكشف الذكي عن الآفات الزراعية "حارس النخيل" (Palm Guard) بالمركز الأول، في ختام فعاليات النسخة الأولى من مسابقة "منصة الاستثمار الجريء" (Petra Shark Tank) لدعم الابتكار الطلابي.
أقيم الحفل بتنظيم من عمادة شؤون الطلبة بالتعاون مع حاضنة الأعمال في كلية العلوم الإدارية والمالية، بحضور نائب رئيس الجامعة الأستاذ الدكتور مياس الريماوي، وحشد من أعضاء الهيئتين التدريسية والإدارية والطلبة.
وطوّر الجهاز الفائز الطلبة زيد أبو الشعر، وعبد الرحمن الكردي، وعبد الرحمن الهيموني من تخصص الذكاء الاصطناعي، بهدف الكشف المبكر عن سوسة النخيل والحد من أضرارها على المزروعات.
وحصل مشروع منصة التوظيف المرنة "سوق فليكس" (SouqFlex) للطالب غازي الصباغ من تخصص التكنولوجيا المالية على المركز الثاني، فيما جاء مشروع نظام التدقيق والامتثال الضريبي "Agentic Tax AI" للطالبة آية الفقيه من تخصص المحاسبة في المركز الثالث.
وأكد عبد الرحيم دور الجامعات بوصفها حاضنات للإبداع ومراكز لإعداد رواد الأعمال وقادة المستقبل، مشيدًا بأفكار الطلبة الريادية وقدرتهم على تطوير حلول مبتكرة للتحديات المجتمعية والاقتصادية.
من جانبه، أشار عميد شؤون الطلبة الأستاذ الدكتور إياد الملاح إلى حرص العمادة على توفير بيئة محفزة تساعد الطلبة على تحويل أفكارهم الإبداعية إلى مشاريع مستدامة وقابلة للنمو.
وضمت لجنة التحكيم مستشار الابتكار عمر العموش، والمدير العام السابق لشركة مايكروسوفت حسين ملحس، والإعلامية أسيل الخريشا.
وأدار الفعالية مدير حاضنة الأعمال الدكتور أحمد النجار، ومساعد عميد شؤون الطلبة الدكتور مالك السعود، اللذان أشرفا على تأهيل الطلبة وتدريبهم للمشاركة في المسابقة.
واختتم الحفل بتكريم الفرق الفائزة وأعضاء لجنة التحكيم والجهات الشريكة، تقديرًا لمساهماتهم في إنجاح المبادرة الهادفة إلى دعم المشاريع الريادية وتوسيع آفاق الاستثمار الجريء أمام الطلبة والخريجين.
University of Petra President Crowns “Palm Guard” Project as Winner of Petra Shark Tank Competition
Professor Rami Abdel-Rahem, President of the University of Petra, awarded first place to the “Palm Guard” project, an intelligent agricultural pest detection device, at the closing ceremony of the inaugural Petra Shark Tank competition, which aims to foster student innovation and entrepreneurship.
The event was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with the Business Incubator at the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences. The ceremony was attended by Vice President Professor Mayas Al-Rimawi, along with a large gathering of faculty members, staff, and students.
The winning device was developed by Artificial Intelligence students Zaid Abu Al-Sha'ar, Abdulrahman Al-Kurdi, and Abdulrahman Al-Haimouni. The project is designed to detect red palm weevil infestations at an early stage and help reduce their impact on agricultural crops.
Second place was awarded to “SouqFlex,” a flexible employment platform developed by Financial Technology student Ghazi Al-Sabbagh. Third place went to “Agentic Tax AI,” a tax auditing and compliance system developed by Accounting student Aya Al-Faqih.
Professor Abdel-Rahem emphasized the role of universities as incubators of creativity and centers for preparing future entrepreneurs and leaders. He praised the students’ innovative ideas and their ability to develop practical solutions to social and economic challenges.
For his part, Dean of Student Affairs Professor Eyad Al-Mallah highlighted the Deanship’s commitment to providing a supportive environment that enables students to transform their creative ideas into sustainable and scalable ventures.
The judging panel consisted of innovation consultant Omar Al-Amoush, former Microsoft General Manager Hussein Malhas, and media professional Aseel Al-Khuraisha.
The event was moderated by Dr. Ahmad Al-Najjar, Director of the Business Incubator, and Dr. Malik Al-Saud, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, who supervised the training and preparation of students for the competition.
The ceremony concluded with the recognition of the winning teams, judges, and partner organizations in appreciation of their contributions to the success of the initiative, which seeks to support entrepreneurial projects and expand venture investment opportunities for students and graduates.

بلعاوي من جامعة البترا يفوز بجائزة "صُنْع الفارق 2026" العالمية من جامعة مانشستر البريطانية
فاز الأستاذ المشارك في كلية الصيدلة بجامعة البترا الدكتور ضرار حسن بلعاوي بجائزة "صُنْع الفارق 2026" (Making a Difference Award) العالمية التي تمنحها جامعة مانشستر البريطانية، وذلك للمرة الثالثة على التوالي، تقديراً لإسهاماته المتميزة في خدمة المجتمع وتعزيز الوعي الصحي بالأمراض المعدية وغير المعدية.
وجاء منح الجائزة للدكتور بلعاوي تقديراً لجهوده العلمية والمجتمعية في نشر التوعية الصحية، ودوره في دعم الممارسات العلاجية والوقائية، إضافة إلى مساهماته البحثية والمهنية في مجالات العلاج الدوائي السريري والأمراض المعدية.
ويشغل الدكتور بلعاوي منصب رئيس قسم الصيدلة السريرية ومساعد عميد كلية الصيدلة لشؤون التدريب السريري في جامعة البترا، كما يعمل أستاذاً إكلينيكياً مشاركاً ومستشاراً في العلاج الدوائي السريري للأمراض المعدية في مستشفى الحياة. ويشارك في عدد من اللجان الوطنية المتخصصة في وزارة الصحة الأردنية، من بينها اللجنة الوطنية لتقييم الأدوية، واللجنة الوطنية للقاحات، واللجنة الوطنية لمضادات الميكروبات، واللجنة الوطنية لدراسة حالات كورونا، ولجنة كفايات برامج الصيدلة.
ويحمل الدكتور بلعاوي مؤهلات أكاديمية ومهنية متقدمة، حيث حصل على درجة البكالوريوس في الصيدلة السريرية من الجامعة الأردنية، ودرجة الماجستير في الإدارة والتسويق الطبي من جامعة هادرزفيلد البريطانية، والدكتوراه في العلاج الدوائي السريري من كلية العلوم الطبية في جامعة مانشستر. كما يحمل عدداً من الشهادات والبوردات المهنية المتخصصة في علم الأوبئة ومكافحة العدوى، وأكمل زمالة سريرية في علاج الأمراض المعدية بمستشفى سالفورد الملكي في المملكة المتحدة.
وحصد الدكتور بلعاوي خلال مسيرته المهنية عدداً من الجوائز المحلية والإقليمية والعالمية، من أبرزها جائزة "الشخصية القدوة" لعام 2020، وجائزة "فارس السلام"، وجائزة "الباحث المتميز" في جامعة البترا، وجائزة "التميز العلمي" من وزارة الثقافة والشباب المغربية ومنظمة الإيسيسكو، وجائزة "الخريج المتميز" من جامعة مانشستر على مستوى الشرق الأوسط والعالم، وجائزة "خريج الجامعات البريطانية المتميز في فئة العمل المجتمعي" من المجلس الثقافي البريطاني، إضافة إلى جائزة BIZZ AWARD العالمية من الاتحاد العالمي للأعمال (WORLDCOB)، وجائزة علي منكو للباحث المتميز في مجال الكليات الصحية.
ويعكس هذا الإنجاز المكانة العلمية والبحثية المتميزة التي تحظى بها جامعة البترا وأعضاء هيئتها التدريسية، ودورهم الفاعل في خدمة المجتمع وتعزيز المعرفة والابتكار على المستويين المحلي والدولي.
Belawi of the University of Petra Wins the Global “Making a Difference Award 2026” from the University of Manchester
Associate Professor Dr. Dirar Hassan Belawi of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Petra has won the global “Making a Difference Award 2026” presented by the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, for the third consecutive year. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to social responsibility and his efforts to raise public awareness of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Dr. Belawi received the award in recognition of his scientific and community-based initiatives aimed at promoting health awareness, advancing preventive and therapeutic practices, and contributing to research and professional development in the fields of clinical pharmacotherapy and infectious diseases.
Dr. Belawi serves as Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Assistant Dean for Clinical Training at the University of Petra. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor and Clinical Pharmacotherapy Consultant for Infectious Diseases at Al-Hayat Hospital. In addition, he is a member of several national committees under the Jordanian Ministry of Health, including the National Drug Evaluation Committee, the National Vaccine Committee, the National Antimicrobial Committee, the National COVID-19 Case Review Committee, and the National Pharmacy Program Competencies Committee.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Jordan, a Master’s degree in Medical Management and Marketing from the University of Huddersfield, and a PhD in Clinical Pharmacotherapy from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Manchester. He also holds several professional certifications and board credentials in epidemiology and infection prevention and control, and completed a Clinical Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Salford Royal Hospital in the United Kingdom.
Throughout his career, Dr. Belawi has received numerous national, regional, and international awards. These include the “Role Model Personality Award” in 2020, the “Knight of Peace Award,” the University of Petra’s Distinguished Researcher Award, the Scientific Excellence Award from the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and Youth and ICESCO, the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the University of Manchester at both the Middle East and global levels, the British Council’s UK Alumni Award for Social Action, the global BIZZ AWARD presented by the World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB), and the Ali Manko Distinguished Researcher Award in the Health Sciences category.
This achievement reflects the distinguished academic and research standing of the University of Petra and its faculty members, as well as their commitment to community service, scientific excellence, and innovation at both the national and international levels.

قسم اللغات الحديثة بجامعة البترا يشارك في تحكيم جائزة "غونكور" الأدبية الإقليمية
شارك طلبة قسم اللغات الحديثة في جامعة البترا في تحكيم الجائزة الأدبية الفرنكوفونية الإقليمية "غونكور: خيار الشرق 2026"، التي نظمتها الوكالة الجامعية للفرنكوفونية في الشرق الأوسط بالتعاون مع المعهد الفرنسي في الأردن وفلسطين ولبنان ومصر والعراق، بهدف تنمية مهارات النقد الأدبي باللغة الفرنسية لدى الطلبة وتعزيز تبادل الخبرات المعرفية على المستوى الإقليمي.
واعتمدت الجائزة على تشكيل لجان تحكيم طلابية تولت قراءة ثماني روايات باللغة الفرنسية وتحليلها واختيار أفضلها، بمشاركة خمسٍ وعشرين جامعة من عشر دول. وفي هذا الإطار، نظم قسم اللغات الحديثة ورشات قراءة مكثفة بإشراف الدكتور عبد الرحمن النتشة، أعد خلالها الطلبة نصوصًا نقدية نُشرت على الصفحة الرسمية للمسابقة، بإشراف الطالبة أيزين الحكيم.
وفازت رواية "La Nuit au Cœur" (ليلة في القلب) للكاتبة الفرنسية ناتاشا أبانا بالجائزة، عقب جلسة تصويت مغلقة عُقدت عن بُعد. وتلا الإعلان عن العمل الفائز نقاشٌ عام مفتوح بين لجان التحكيم الطلابية، أدارته الروائية الفرنكوفونية سلمى كجك، تناول المضامين الفكرية والجمالية للرواية، واستعرض القراءات النقدية التي قدمها طلبة الجامعات المشاركة.
University of Petra’s Department of Modern Languages Participates in Judging the Regional Goncourt Literary Prize
Students from the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Petra participated in judging the regional Francophone literary prize “Goncourt: The Choice of the East 2026.” The award was organized by the University Agency of Francophonie in the Middle East in cooperation with the French Institutes in Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, and Iraq, with the aim of developing students’ literary criticism skills in French and promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise at the regional level.
The prize was based on the formation of student jury committees tasked with reading, analyzing, and evaluating eight French-language novels before selecting the best work. The competition brought together twenty-five universities from ten countries. As part of the initiative, the Department of Modern Languages organized intensive reading workshops under the supervision of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Natsheh. During these workshops, students produced critical reviews that were published on the competition’s official page under the coordination of student Aizen Al-Hakim.
The novel “La Nuit au Cœur” (Night at the Heart) by French author Nathacha Appanah won the award following a closed online voting session. The announcement of the winning work was followed by an open discussion among the student jury committees, moderated by Francophone novelist Salma Kojok, focusing on the novel’s intellectual and aesthetic dimensions and highlighting the critical readings presented by students from the participating universities.

نفذ قسما التصميم الجرافيكي والتحريك والوسائط المتعددة في جامعة البترا جداريات ورسومات توعوية على أسوار مدرسة العدسية الأساسية المختلطة في لواء ناعور. واستهدفت المبادرة، بمشاركة أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية والطلبة، تحسين البيئة البصرية والتعليمية داخل المدرسة، وتوظيف الفنون البصرية في نشر القيم التربوية الإيجابية.
أشرف على المبادرة الميدانية الدكتور ذياب الناعوري من قسم التحريك، والمهندسة لبنى العساف، والأستاذة ساجدة زينل، والأستاذ محمد خلف من قسم التصميم الجرافيكي. وتنوعت اللوحات الجدارية بين عبارات تحفيزية ورسومات هادفة تحمل مضامين تعليمية وجمالية، بهدف حث طلبة المدرسة على التفكير الإبداعي، وتعزيز روح العمل الجماعي، والمحافظة على البيئة المدرسية.
وأكد عميد كلية العمارة والتصميم في جامعة البترا الدكتور عامر الجوخدار التزام الكلية بربط الجوانب الأكاديمية والإبداعية باحتياجات المجتمع المحلي، ودعم مبادرات العمل التطوعي.
وثمّنت مديرة مدرسة العدسية الأساسية المختلطة هيفاء أبو الحمص جهود فريق جامعة البترا في تنفيذ هذه الفعالية المجتمعية، مشيرة إلى الأثر البصري والتربوي الإيجابي الذي أحدثته الجداريات في نفوس الطلبة وأفراد الكادر التعليمي.

University of Petra’s Graphic Design and Animation Departments Create Educational Murals at Al-Adasiyah School
The Graphic Design and Animation & Multimedia Departments at the University of Petra have created educational murals and awareness-themed artwork on the walls of Al-Adasiyah Mixed Basic School in Naour District. The initiative, carried out with the participation of faculty members and students, aimed to enhance the school’s visual and educational environment while utilizing visual arts to promote positive educational values.
The field initiative was supervised by Dr. Dhiab Al-Naouri from the Animation Department, Engineer Lubna Al-Assaf, Ms. Sajida Zainal, and Mr. Mohammad Khalaf from the Graphic Design Department. The murals featured motivational messages and meaningful illustrations conveying educational and aesthetic themes designed to encourage students to think creatively, embrace teamwork, and preserve their school environment.
Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Dr. Amer Al-Jokhdar, affirmed the faculty’s commitment to connecting academic and creative endeavors with the needs of the local community and supporting volunteer initiatives.
For her part, the Principal of Al-Adasiyah Mixed Basic School, Haifa Abu Al-Hummus, praised the efforts of the University of Petra team in implementing the community initiative, highlighting the positive visual and educational impact of the murals on both students and teaching staff.

افتتح رئيس جامعة البترا الأستاذ الدكتور رامي عبد الرحيم وملحق التعاون العلمي والجامعي في السفارة الفرنسية الأستاذة الدكتورة وسيلة سعايدية، فعاليات اليوم العلمي والمعرض السنوي لكلية العمارة والتصميم للعام 2026 تحت عنوان "توق". أقيم المعرض في حرم الجامعة بحضور مسؤولة الحرم الجامعي الفرنسي الدكتورة ميساء المرابط، لبحث دلالات الهوية والتراث الأردني في المشاريع والتصاميم الطلابية المعاصرة. بين عبد الرحيم في كلمته الافتتاحية أن العمارة لغة إنسانية تحول الحجر والضوء والفراغ إلى تجربة نابضة بالحياة تعبر عن الهوية والذاكرة، رافضا اختزالها في مجرد إنشاءات هندسية أو تقسيم للمساحات. وأوضح رئيس الجامعة دور التصميم الداخلي في بث الروح بالمكان لمواجهة مشاعر الاغتراب التي تسببها الأنماط العمرانية الحديثة، مشددا على ضرورة استحضار عناصر الطبيعة كالخشب والحجر والنباتات لتلبية الاحتياجات النفسية والوجدانية للإنسان. أوضح عميد الكلية الدكتور عامر الجوخدار أن اليوم العلمي يمثل منصة لتبادل الخبرات وتوطيد جسور التواصل بين الطلبة والمختصين في قطاعات العمارة والإنشاءات. وقدم الدكتور واصف المومني قراءة فكرية لعنوان المعرض "توق"، موضحا دلالات الحنين والارتباط بالجذور التي عكستها مشاريع الطلبة وتصاميمهم المعاصرة التي تدمج بين أصالة الماضي وروح الحاضر. ناقش الأكاديميون والخبراء الأستاذ الدكتور نايف حداد، والمصمم المعماري زياد ديراني، والدكتورة منى الأنصاري، والدكتورة لمى أبو حسان، قضايا العمارة وتطورات الممارسة المهنية والتصميم في لقاءات علمية متخصصة. وحضر الفعاليات عمداء الكليات ومساعد رئيس الجامعة للاتفاقيات الدولية وأعضاء الهيئتين التدريسية والإدارية والطلبة. استهدفت المعروضات السنوية إبراز نتاجات ومشاريع التخرج لطلبة الكلية بمختلف تخصصاتها، وتطوير البيئة الأكاديمية والجمالية بما يسهم في رفد قطاعات التصميم والهندسة بخريجين مؤهلين لمواكبة متطلبات سوق العمل المعاصر.

University of Petra President and French Scientific Cooperation Attaché Open Annual "Tawq" Exhibition
President of the University of Petra, Professor Rami Abdel-Rahem, and the Scientific and Academic Cooperation Attaché at the French Embassy, Dr. Wassila Saaidia, inaugurated the 2026 Scientific Day and Annual Exhibition of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, held under the theme "Tawq". The exhibition took place on the university campus in the presence of Dr. Mayssa Morabet, representative of the French Campus, and explored themes of identity and Jordanian heritage as reflected in contemporary student projects and designs.
In his opening remarks, Professor Abdel-Rahem described architecture as a universal language that transforms stone, light, and space into a vibrant human experience expressing identity and collective memory. He rejected reducing architecture to mere engineering structures or spatial divisions, emphasizing its cultural and human dimensions. He also highlighted the role of interior design in bringing life and meaning to spaces and addressing feelings of alienation often associated with modern urban environments. He stressed the importance of incorporating natural elements such as wood, stone, and plants to meet people's psychological and emotional needs.
Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Amer Al-Joukhdar, noted that the Scientific Day serves as a platform for exchanging expertise and strengthening connections between students and professionals in the architecture and construction sectors. Dr. Wasif Al-Momani presented an intellectual interpretation of the exhibition's title, "Tawq," explaining how it conveys themes of longing and attachment to one's roots, as reflected in students' contemporary projects that blend the authenticity of the past with the spirit of the present.
Academic and professional discussions featured Professor Nayef Haddad, architectural designer Ziad Dirani, Dr. Mona Al-Ansari, and Dr. Lama Abu Hassan, who addressed contemporary issues in architecture, design, and professional practice through a series of specialized sessions. The event was attended by deans, the Assistant President for International Agreements, faculty and administrative staff members, and students.
The annual exhibition showcased student projects and graduation works from the faculty's various disciplines. It aimed to highlight students' creative achievements while contributing to the development of an academically and aesthetically enriching environment that supports the design and engineering sectors through the preparation of graduates equipped to meet the demands of the contemporary labor market.

طلبة قسم التغذية بجامعة البترا يطلعون على تقنيات تصنيع اللحوم في مصنع "سنيورة"
اطلع طلبة قسم التغذية في حامعة البترا على آليات حفظ وتصنيع اللحوم، خلال جولة ميدانية إلى مصنع "سنيورة للمنتجات الغذائية". واستهدفت الزيارة، التي نُفذت لطلبة مساق "تكنولوجيا الغذاء المتقدمة"، ربط المناهج الأكاديمية بالواقع الصناعي، وإتاحة الفرصة للطلبة للاطلاع على خطوط الإنتاج والتقنيات المتبعة لضمان سلامة الأغذية في المنشآت الصناعية الكبرى.
وأشرف على الجولة الأستاذ الدكتور عمر الحاج والمهندسة نغم أرشيد، حيث تضمنت شرحًا فنيًا لمراحل التصنيع المختلفة وآليات التعامل مع التحديات الإنتاجية الميدانية. وتسهم هذه الأنشطة في تزويد الطلبة بالخبرات العملية اللازمة لمراقبة جودة الغذاء، وتعزيز مواءمة مخرجات الجامعة التعليمية مع المتطلبات التقنية والتشغيلية لسوق العمل في قطاع الصناعات الغذائية.
University of Petra Nutrition Students Explore Meat Processing Technologies at Siniora Food Industries
Students from the Department of Nutrition at the University of Petra explored meat preservation and processing techniques during a field visit to Siniora Food Industries. The visit, organized for students enrolled in the "Advanced Food Technology" course, aimed to bridge academic learning with industrial practice and provide students with firsthand exposure to production lines and the technologies used to ensure food safety in large-scale manufacturing facilities.
The tour was supervised by Professor Omar Al-Haj and Engineer Nagham Arshid. It included a technical overview of the various stages of meat processing and the methods used to address operational and production challenges. Such activities contribute to equipping students with the practical skills required for food quality control and support the alignment of the university’s educational outcomes with the technical and operational demands of the food industry labor market.

جامعة البترا تعلن الفائزين في مسابقة "البترا في عيون طلبتها" للتصوير والفيديو
أعلنت جامعة البترا أسماء الفائزين في مسابقة "البترا في عيون طلبتها" للتصوير الفوتوغرافي والفيديو القصير، التي نظمتها عمادة شؤون الطلبة بالتعاون مع استديوهات الجبيهة وجمعية المصورين الأردنيين، بهدف تشجيع الطلبة على توثيق الحياة الجامعية وإبراز مواهبهم الإبداعية والفنية من خلال الصورة والفيديو.
وأُقيم حفل إعلان النتائج برعاية رئيس جامعة البترا الأستاذ الدكتور رامي عبد الرحيم، وبحضور عميد شؤون الطلبة الأستاذ الدكتور إياد الملاح، ومدير استديوهات الجبيهة السيد طارق البكيرات، إلى جانب عدد من عمداء الكليات ومديري الدوائر الأكاديمية والإدارية.
وشهدت المسابقة مشاركة واسعة من طلبة الجامعة من مختلف التخصصات، حيث تنافسوا في تقديم أعمال فوتوغرافية ومرئية عكست رؤيتهم للحياة الجامعية والبيئة التعليمية في جامعة البترا.
وفي فئة التصوير الفوتوغرافي، حصد طلبة كلية الإعلام المراكز الثلاثة الأولى؛ إذ فازت الطالبة رحمة عودة من تخصص الصحافة والإعلام الرقمي بالمركز الأول، فيما حصلت الطالبة رهف السلايطة من التخصص ذاته على المركز الثاني، وجاءت الطالبة جنى نهاد من تخصص العلاقات العامة والترويج الرقمي في المركز الثالث.
أما في فئة الفيديو القصير، فقد فازت الطالبة جانيت جركس من تخصص التحريك والوسائط المتعددة بالمركز الأول، تلاها الطالب خالد الناطور من تخصص علم البيانات والذكاء الاصطناعي في المركز الثاني، فيما حصلت الطالبة تريم القاضي من تخصص إدارة الأعمال على المركز الثالث.
وأكدت عمادة شؤون الطلبة أن المسابقة تأتي ضمن جهود الجامعة الرامية إلى دعم الإبداع الطلابي وتنمية المهارات الفنية والإعلامية لدى الطلبة، وإتاحة الفرصة لهم للتعبير عن رؤاهم وتجاربهم الجامعية من خلال أدوات الاتصال البصري الحديثة، بما يسهم في تعزيز ثقافة التميز والابتكار داخل الحرم الجامعي.
University of Petra Announces Winners of “Petra Through Students’ Eyes” Photography and Video Competition
The University of Petra announced the winners of the “Petra Through Students’ Eyes” Photography and Short Video Competition, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with Al-Jubeiha Studios and the Jordan Photographic Society. The competition aimed to encourage students to document university life and showcase their creative and artistic talents through photography and video.
The awards ceremony was held under the patronage of University President Professor Rami Abdel-Rahem and attended by Dean of Student Affairs Professor Iyad Al-Mallah, Director of Al-Jubeiha Studios Mr. Tareq Al-Bekirat, as well as several deans and directors of academic and administrative departments.
The competition attracted broad participation from students across various disciplines, who competed by submitting photographic and video works reflecting their perspectives on university life and the educational environment at the University of Petra.
In the photography category, students from the Faculty of Mass Communication won the top three positions. Rahma Odeh, a student in the Journalism and Digital Media program, secured first place, while Rahaf Al-Salaytah from the same program won second place. Jana Nihad, a student in the Public Relations and Digital Promotion program, earned third place.
In the short video category, Janet Jerkes, a student in the Animation and Multimedia program, won first place. Khaled Al-Natour, a student in the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program, came in second, while Tareem Al-Qadi, a student in the Business Administration program, secured third place.
The Deanship of Student Affairs emphasized that the competition is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to support student creativity, develop students’ artistic and media skills, and provide opportunities for them to express their perspectives and university experiences through modern visual communication tools. These initiatives contribute to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation across the campus.
