Toddlers and preschool Children are introduced to many fun and exciting activities and spend lots of time learning through play ! The Toddler and Preschool curriculum focuses on helping Children to Interact and participate in activities and increase their language skills as well as your child's primary areas of development. Fine Motor Skills: Children's fine motor skills which include finger and hand movements need to be encouraged in many different ways in order for them to progress. We offer a wide variety of activities to develop their fine motor skills ranging from painting to picking up crayons and finger foods to playing with play-dough and puzzles.During our Art and crafts time each Day children have the chance to paint, paste, color, cut, play-dough and have fun getting messy ! Gross Motor Skills: Children are encouraged during indoor games and outside play times to kick and catch balls, run, jump, walk, balance and crawl with many activities aimed to increase their hand/eye coordination. We have slides, sand area, water tables for lots of fun ! Emotional Skills: We assist children in exploring their emotions from joy to frustration !.Children will begin to gain the skills needed such as patience, cooperation and sharing during free play time and interaction with other children. Social skills: Practice problem-solving skills in social situations. Work in groups or with a partner on a variety of projects. Share classroom materials with the group. Practice using manners: please, thank you, excuse me, table manners. Communicate his/her needs. Take care of his/her own basic needs: clean up, use tissue as needed. State personal information: first and last name, age, school name. Explore types of work and workers. Explore modes of transportation. Communication skills: We teach Toddlers and preschool children how to put their wants and needs into words. They are encouraged to expand their vocabulary with reciting nursery rhymes, singing songs, finger play and story time. Math: Numerals 1-10. Counting objects to 10. One-to-one correspondence of objects. Sorting by various attributes: color, shape, size. Patterns: AB, AABB, ABC. Sizes: small, medium, large. Shapes: square, rectangle, circle, triangle. Matching: symbols, shapes, patterns. Same and Different. More, Less, Same. Day and Night. Literacy: Exposure to alphabet: letter names and sounds. Recognize, spell, write first name. Hold a pencil, marker, crayon correctly. Retell familiar stories. Answer questions about stories. Repeat simple nursery rhymes and finger plays. Build new vocabulary. Build listening skills. Strengthen visual discrimination. Science: Experience the world through nature walks, gardening, and other explorations. Observe insect life. Observe plant growth. Measure and mix ingredients in cooking activities. Identify basic colors and explore color mixing. Explore the world with the five senses.
