اسم هاي الظاهرة هو الاِقْتِراض اللُغوي (lexical borrowing) وهي نقل كلمة أجنبية من لغتها الأصلية إلى لغة أخرى. 🌍🌏🌎
زي ما في كثير كلمات عربية من أصل إنجليزي (كمبيوتر، تلفزيون، موبايل) اللغة الإنجليزية مليانة كلمات من أصل عربي!

‏ Different uses of (eye + on + sb) in colloquial Arabic

يا عيني عليك.
‏Literally: my eye is on you
‏Meaning: you’re right or you’re doing well

العين عليه.
‏Literally: the eye is laid on him
‏Meaning: has everybody’s attention

عينه عليها.
عينها عليه.
‏Literally: his\ her eye is on him\her
‏Meaning: s\he is interested in him\her

خلي عينك عليهـ\ـا.
‏Literally: keep your eyes on him\ her
‏Meaning: watch\ observe him\her

عيني عليك باردة.
‏Literally: may my eye that is laid on you be cold
‏Meaning: I hope I don’t jinx you. (in reference to the evil eye)

يسمى طائر الديك "الرومي" (أو الديك "الحبشي") في الإنجليزية "Turkey "نسبة إلى تركيا"، ويسمى في اللغة التركية Hindi "نسبة إلى الهند"، ويسمى في اللغة اليونانية Gallopoula "الدجاجة الفرنسية"، ويسمى في اللغة الفرنسية Poulet d’inde "الدجاجة الهندية".

ولكن الطريف في الأمر هو أن طائر الديك الرومي لا ينتمي لأي من هذه الأماكن!

In Turkish, the bird we call a Turkey is called "Hindi" ("from India"). In India, it's called "Peru." In Arabic, the bird is called “Roman chicken"; in Greek it's called "French chicken"; and in French it's called "Indian chicken."

The bird is indigenous to none of these places.

تُنْسَب بَعْض الأَلْوان إلى ذَوات تَحْمل اللون نَفْسه أحياناً!
فَيُنْسَبْ الَّلون الوَرْدي إلى الوَرْد، والَّلون الزَهْري إلى الزَهْر، والَّلون الكُحلي إلى كُحل العَيْن، والَّلون البَنَفْسَجي إلى أزهار البَنَفْسَج، والَّلون السماوي إلى السماء... إلخ.

In Arabic, some colors are derived from the names of natural objects. 🌸🌼🌸🌼
