It is illegal for secondary institutions to operate without a students' council. Head boys/girls are not a requirement by law, the school can decide to do without them. However, every school in Jamaica MUST have a students' council President, who's the voice of the student population, ensuring principals, vice-principals, teachers etc do not violate the rights of the students.

The Education Act of 1980 states that:
“every public education institution shall have a students’ council, which shall consist of elected representatives of students with at least one staff advisor, elected by students.”

Congratulations to the Manning’s Performing Arts Society who received FIFTY EIGHT MEDALS at the recently held JCDC Speech Festival parish finals.
The group got 21 gold, 21 silver and 16 bronze medals.

We must also say a hearty thank you to Miss Audrey Williams (first from right) who has been doing an excellent job with the performing arts group over the years.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR MALE VOLLEYBALL TEAM WHO FINISHED 2nd AT THE NATIONAL FINALS YESTERDAY ‼️‼️‼️

The boys defeated Wolmers Boys in the National Semi-Finals by 3 sets to nill but lost the final 3-1 to St.Jago.

Congratulations to the Manning’s Chorale who recieved 34 medals at the recently held JCDC Music Festival Parish Finals.

The group got 17 gold, 11 silver and 6 bronze medals.
They now shift their focus to the National Finals which will be in April.
