Portmore Missionary Preparatory School stands tall as a beacon among its peers, on Jamaica's educational landscape. The school, which sits adjacent to the Portmore Missionary Church at Cecile Avenue, Edgewater, St Catherine, has, since its inception 41 years ago, distinguished itself as one of the premier preparatory Institutions in the parish. It has, in its short lifespan, chalked up significant

and impressive achievements in academics, sports, and culture and the performing arts, among other areas, which places it on par to rival its more 'established' peers. Regarded as an extension of the Portmore Missionary Church's Christian ministry and community social outreach programmes, the school is operated by the Portmore Council of the Missionary Church in Jamaica Initially started as a basic school. The institution was transformed into a preparatory school by the council in direct response to the Portmore community's growing need for such.
