Although Anthony Cruz (real name Rowan Smith) was raised in the same Mandeville neighborhood as his cousin Aaron Silk and uncle the late Garnet Silk, he moved to Miami in 1993 where he started to make a name for himself under the direction of Miami based musician/producer Willie Lindo. Convinced the world was ready for him, Lindo released Cruz's debut single, 'Tell Me What's Up' (an original), 'Just Call My Name' & his debut album titled 'Where There Is Love'. The album featured the title track, 'When You Get Lonely' and 'Love Will Never Die'.

In 1999, Cruz decided to return to Jamaica to claim his piece of the pie in the land of his birth and the home of reggae music. The first song he recorded back home, 'Maria Maria' (a cover of the Santana/Product G&B big hit), became a hit, and from then he continued to make hits after hits including 'You Remind Me', You Got It Bad", 'Mama's Blessing', the infectious 'Halfway Tree', 'People Bawlin' on Massive B's 'Truths & Rights' riddim, 'Lost In Love' over Energy's 'Queen Of The Minstrel' riddim, and the wicked combination tune with Buju Banton entitled 'Place Too Bloody'.

He is Dancehall’s most esoteric, yet, unconcealed weapon. Daniel “Chino” McGregor is a paradox in plain sight. Armed with potent lyrics, a velvety-smooth voice, street cred, an undeniable mystique that drives female fans wild: Chino is unquestionably a man for all seasons. Chino, who was born on the 12th of February 1983, is the son of Jamaican music legend, Freddie McGregor. Surrounded by countless records, endless background harmonies and innumerable instruments, it’s understandable why he developed a strong inclination toward music at a very early age. In fact, so caught up was he that he seized every opportunity to observe and learn from the best in the industry: namely, legends including the late Dennis Brown, Marcia Griffith, Judy Mowatt and Gregory Isaac, in addition to Dancehall icons such as Bounty Killer, Beenie Man and more. These interactions resulted in a comprehensive knowledge of recording and production techniques which would later work in his advantage. But first: here’s a rewind. Chino’s musical ascendancy started at age nine while he was still a student at the Vaz Preparatory School. There, he joined their choir and ever since then, Chino has seen singing as his destiny.

BIGGA HAITIAN ''UP IN THE HILLS!''OFFICIAL REGGAE MUSIC VIDEO 07/08/2022

Born Charles Dorismond in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Bigga hails from a musical family. His father, Andre Dorismond, was the lead singer of The Webert Sicot Group, pioneers of Haitian dance music known as compas (kompa). Bigga immigrated to New York City at the age of 8 and grew up amidst the pulsating rhythms of reggae music in the vibrant Jamaican community of Flatbush, Brooklyn. Bigga knew that he was destined to become a reggae singer after seeing Admiral Bailey perform his hit tune "Big Belly Man" at Manhattan's Reggae Lounge in 1987.[2] Bigga released his first single, "Haiti A Weh Mi From" (Flames Records), in 1989. The track reached #1 on the Haitian charts, and is still a staple of Haitian radio to this day. Bigga's first full album, 1997's I Am Back (Royal Productions/Jomino/Roots International), features a remix of this dancehall anthem.

In 2002, Bigga released his second album, Binghi Mon. The title track was inspired by racial profiling of Rastafarians and other groups following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Also called "The Osama Tune," the song rails against violence, denouncing the Taliban and Osama bin Laden.

Over the next few years, Bigga performed with notable reggae musicians including Shabba Ranks, Cocoa Tea and Junior Reid. Bigga's unique brand of toasting enabled him to cross over into hip-hop, opening for Lil' Kim and Jay-Z.[3]

In 2006, Bigga signed with his current label, New York-based independent, Walkup Records.
