On September 20, 2025, The UWI Mona Western Jamaica Hall of Residence travelled to the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course at Rose Hall for our annual environmental clean-up initiative. This year, our focus was on the surrounding roadways, where litter can easily wash into drains and out to sea.🪸

✨In a successful collaboration with the External Affairs Team, our dedicated volunteers worked together to clear a significant amount of waste from the roadside. From plastic bottles and snack wrappers to discarded debris, every piece collected helps protect our local environment and prevent marine pollution.♻️

A huge thank you to every student who volunteered and to the External Affairs Team for their invaluable collaboration in making a tangible difference!🌎

This past weekend, we were proud to officially welcome our new residents into the WJC Hawk family at our annual Induction Ceremony! 🧡🤍🤎
Hosted by the Office of Student Services and Development, the evening was a beautiful celebration of new beginnings, community, and the exciting journey ahead.🎉🥂

From the heartfelt addresses to the symbolic reciting of the hall pledge, every moment was a step toward building the connections that will define their university experience. We are thrilled to see the bonds already forming and the spirit of camaraderie filling our halls.

This symbolic ceremony marks the formal welcome of new students into the academic community of The University of the West Indies, Mona.
