Bright Horizon is geared towards providing developmentally appropriate practices for young minds in the cohort 2 yrs-6 yrs old.

Our Philosophy

To ensure that Jamaica's most important resources, the children, birth six years, are provided with a readiness programme, utilizing development appropriate stimulation, with emphasis on the Affective Psychomotor and Cognitive domain, implemented by qualify and highly motivated Early Childhood staff, performing at the highest standard, while partnering with parents and the community.

This picture was taken before Hurricane Melissa. Today, our classroom looks very different — fewer desks, fewer supplies — but our commitment to rebuilding is stronger than ever.

Our children have lived through a disaster, and each one carries a unique story. As we return to school on Monday, our first priority is to create a gentle, supportive transition back into learning. We’re making space for students to share their experiences, process their emotions, and feel seen and heard.

Many will continue to face challenges at home. For six hours each day, we have the privilege of offering them stability: a place to reconnect with teachers and friends, to rebuild routines, and to grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

Resilience is the backbone of the Jamaican people. We learn resilience early.

Children bring all sorts of ideas and conversations to their learning. What was not caught on camera was him deciding what symbols he wanted to use for this addition activity. He contemplated triangles but was concerned about the number of sides there would be in his drawing. Then he emphatically said: I will make balls because it’s a circle and has no sides 😁

Establishing routine is so important. At the start of the day, before classes begin, students head to their desks, take out their homework, put their bags away, turn in their homework, then get a table activity of their choice.

Some students like mini cars, some like to color or sit quietly, and most seem to like blocks. Young children learn through play as well as engaging with their peers and teachers.

Create routine for your child. It helps them feel safe snd confident.
